Welcome…Let the Ride Begin!
Dear Equine Friends, Filmmakers and Horse Lovers,
If you love all equines, you’ve come to the right place. The
EQUUS INTERNATIONAL Film Festival is the premier venue
for equine film, celebrating one of the great American icons.
EIFF brings the world of the horse into focus, promoting eq-
uine welfare through inspiring stories and film.
EIFF celebrates and honors the people who tell equine sto-
ries, capture the spirit of the horse, and live the equine life ---
from rescue to ranching, dressage to adoption, performance to
partnership, the equine/human bond is an inspiring one of
hope and promise. Horses make us better people, and we
can help to improve the lives of our equine partners.
This year, we honor two of the world’s great horsemen, sym-
bols of this year’s theme --- Icon of the American West, the
Global Impact of the Horse. Monty Roberts will receive the
first-ever Icon Award and Smoke Elser, a Lifetime Achieve-
ment Award. Both men have made a lasting impact on the
world of EQUUS --- we celebrate these equine leaders and
the gifts they’ve given us through the knowledge and under-
standing they have brought to the equine arena.
The future of EIFF --- to make the world a better place for
horse and human; to build opportunities for equine under-
standing, to promote partnership and equine welfare through
the EQUUS INTERNATIONAL Film Festival.
EIFF is a project of Horse Haven Montana, an equine rescue
and adoption organization headquartered in Montana. New
Beginnings is a new educational program of Horse Haven to
partner young people from challenged backgrounds with
horses rescued or retired and now beginning a new chapter in
their lives. Our mission --- education and understanding to
enhance the equine/human bond and to improve the welfare
of the horse and other equines. Please join us and thank you
for your support.
Janet Rose Founder P.S. Special Thanks from the heart to all of the wonderful volunteers who have made EIFF possible.
Many Thanks to EIFF 2017 Sponsors!
