Peter Benario has been in the industry for over 38 years primarily as a broker and manufacturer. Gourmet Away, a New York Metro brokerage that Peter started in 2005 merged with Specialty Food Sales earlier this year. Peter operates the NY Metro sales office for us.

We are in the midst of a green revolution! Natural, organic and sustainable products are proliferating our markets and our world in

general. Food is viewed differently today than ever before. New food items inhabit the marketplace; foods with different, foreign and exotic

names like hummus, kumbacha, tomatillo and miso. There is an enormous acceptance to the new and different. It is within this context

that our opportunity exists for the sale of specialty foods. So, what makes a food specialty? We answer this as follows: specialty foods
