  1. 1. THE DANGERS OF SMOKING
  2. 2. Did you know that according to Center for Disease Control (CDC) smoking can damage nearly every organ of your body. It can also cause diseases and reduce the health of smokers in general. Did you know that smoking is the leading preventable cause of death in the U.S. There are approximately 480,000 deaths a year caused by smoking, which comes out to approximately 1 in 5 deaths each year. Smoking causes more deaths than HIV, auto accidents, drug and alcohol use, and gun associated incidents. If you were to total all deaths, from all wars in the U.S., it wouldnt even come near the total premature deaths from cigarette smoking. Death attributed to lung cancer accounts for approximately 90% due to smoking and for women, more women die from smoking than from breast cancer. Women who smoke, have a higher chance of having a pre term delivery or suffer from infertility. SMOKING DIDYOU KNOW

SMOKING WHAT ISTHE COST
  4. 4. SMOKING WHAT IS SECOND HAND SMOKE Secondhand smoke (SHS) is also known as environmental tobacco smoke (ETS). SHS is a mixture of 2 forms of smoke that come from burning tobacco: Sidestream smoke smoke from the lighted end of a cigarette, pipe, or cigar Mainstream smoke the smoke exhaled by a smoker Even though we think of these as the same, they arent. Sidestream smoke has higher concentrations of cancer-causing agents (carcinogens) and is more toxic than mainstream smoke. And, it has smaller particles than mainstream smoke. These smaller particles make their way into the lungs and the bodys cells more easily. When non-smokers are exposed to SHS its called involuntary smoking or passive smoking. Non-smokers who breathe in SHS take in nicotine and toxic chemicals by the same route smokers do.The more SHS you breathe, the higher the level of these harmful chemicals in your body. http://www.cancer.org/cancer/cancercauses/tobaccocancer/secondhand-smoke

After 2-5 years , the risk of stroke could drop to the same rate as a non smoker. After 5 years, the risks for cancers of the mouth, throat, esophagus, and bladder drop by half within 5 years 10 years after quitting, risk of lung cancer drops by Try quitting today, not only will you save money, but most important , you can save your life http://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/data_statistics/fact_sheets/health_effects/effects_cig_smoking/ SMOKING SO WHY QUIT?
