Why support Healthcare.mn? We’re catalyzing the healthcare innovation scene in MN.

Local healthcare entrepreneurs founded Healthcare.mn in 2012 in order to provide a community that would encourage, support, and sustain early stage start ups. It began as an intimate gathering of established and aspiring founders, and quickly grew to include healthcare innovation enthusiasts and corporate leaders looking to collaborate and create the future of healthcare.

Three years and over 60 events later, Healthcare.mn has over 1,000 members and is regarded as the top healthcare innovation community in Minnesota.

We believe that Minnesota is uniquely positioned as the best place to launch a healthcare startup. Minnesota has a large number of healthcare Fortune 500’s, an innovative state government, and an incredibly educated and entrepreneurial workforce.

To achieve this vision, we hold events at least once a month and are dedicated to making strategic connections among our members and supporters.

Thematic Discussions

We meet with leaders in the healthcare innovation community to discuss today’s most pressing healthcare issues and emerging solutions. We do this primary through 3 types of events: Healthcare Problems on a Platter Industry leaders lay out their top problems and participants engage in an ideathon to brainstorm potential solutions. Attendance ranges from 15-45 people. Check out our Senior Care event. Panel Conversations 3-5 panelists discuss their perspectives on specific themes through moderated and audience Q&A. Attendance ranges from 50-150 people. Check out our Corporate Innovation event. Workshop/Office Hours Experts engage with H.mn members in small groups or 1-1 to discuss specific start up support components such as legal frameworks, funding and investment, and coding. Check out our Venture Capital event.

Annual Healthcare Innovation Overview Once a year, a critical mass of our group gets together to hear leaders’ healthcare innovation priorities, predictions, and agendas. People come for the content, but stay for the opportunity to hear any member of the group to give a 60 second pitch of their current projects and initiatives. This is the best way for members to get a comprehensive overview of what’s going on in Twin Cities healthcare innovation, and to build new relationships and find projects on which to collaborate. Networking and Collaboration Building Fostering community among healthcare entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs, and innovation enthusiasts is one of the most important ways we fulfill our mission of making Minnesota the best place to launch a healthcare start up. Though every event has time for networking, we dedicate a few solely to relationship building over food, drinks, and casual conversations. We strongly believe that collaboration is key to a strong entrepreneurial community, and the first step to collaboration between healthcare sectors is organically built relationships.
