Welcome to our annual Halloween Festival where Southport turns into Spookport for a week! We’ve got thrills and chills galore from big parades, blood curdling comedy to scary stories and family activities!

Spookport starts on Saturday 24th October with a big Halloween Parade down the length of Lord Street and plenty of events throughout the town. Check out pages 14 – 15 for a full list of events.

There is plenty for the entire family to do including Happy Halloween at Pleasureland, Spooktastic Swimming at Splashworld, the Kidfest programme at The Atkinson, plus events at Wayfarers Shopping Arcade, Playtown, Premier Bowl and activities in the Town Hall Gardens.

There will also be plenty for teenagers and adults too including costumed Ghost Walks to tell the ghoulish tales of Southport, Murder Mystery Nights at the Bold and Royal Clifton Hotels, a major paranormal investigation at The Atkinson and an evening of spooky Burlesque at The Ramada.

Halloween is a time of year that really captures the imagination and Southport businesses are really getting into the spirit with loads of Halloween themed offers and promotions.

So come to Southport this Halloween where there will be lots of fun for kids big and small as Southport becomes Spookport!

Welcome to the Carnevil set in Victorian London in 1899, Jack the Ripper was still at large & this was the age of the, a young girl dreamt of running away to join the Circus only to see her dream become a nightmare.

The story twists and turns with grisly murders and sensational shock’s – all interwoven with some of the greatest and most bizarre circus acts on earth, performed by an almighty cast!

Wesley Street will be holding a scarecrow festival leading up to Halloween. The Scarecrows will make an appearance on 16th of October and during the week of Spookport with get progressively spookier leading up to Halloween.

The big Spookport parade feature giant puppets, pyrotechnics a mass of diabolical dancers plus loads of surprises including content from local schools, community groups and organisations.

Leaving from Pleasureland, it will go the full length of Lord Street. Bring the kids along to join in the fun, dress up in their Halloween costume and get involved!

Check out the Fancy Dress Competition at Wayfarers Arcade on page 8. Competition winners will get a special place in the parade.

Open every weekend throughout October, and the full week of half term, Happy Halloween will be full of magic, Freaky Frozen show characters,or Treat Street, a brand new ride and more pumpkins than you can poke a broomstick at!

Enjoy the sights and sounds, bats, wizards, characters and displays. Can purchase your specially designed Happy Halloween Fun card and load it with tokens to use on rides, or just come and soak up the atmosphere, watch the free shows or enjoy a cup of witch’s brew!

Wayfarers Shopping Arcade is inviting people of all ages to come and take part in their big fancy dress competition. Judges include David Lonsdale from Heartbeat and participants are asked turn up in fancy dress and check in from 1:30pm.

There will be 5 Categories and winners in each will receive a trophy and a prize -

5 and under, 6-10 years, 11-16 years, Familes, Adults (over 16)
