Thoughts from Sister Jeannine You have most likely heard before: “Let us live simply, so others can simply live.” On Monday Father Dennis O’Donnell spoke to grades 1 to 4 and then to grades 5 to 8 sharing with them pictures and stories of the children whom he has come to know in the orphanage he helps sponsor in Honduras. The abject poverty of the people was so clear and he repeated a few times, that “These children are just like you – they just were born in Honduras and not here.” He told the students that the children in the orphanage end each day in a prayer circle offering prayers of petition and gratitude. They have so little but are grateful for what they have and so careful to use all things carefully. They have learned to waste nothing – not food, time, or clothes. It touched and challenged us all who were there. What a perfect Lenten goal if we could put on a new attitude of appreciation for what we have and develop a more willing heart to share. What a rich Lent and what a beautiful Easter we could experience if we could fast a bit from: Taking our gift of time, talent, treasure and loved ones for granted Negative talk, hurtful silences or resentment that does not allow forgiveness The need to be always right, the non-acceptance of those who are different The habit of complaining May you have a grateful Lent. Thoughts from Sister Jeannine

You have most likely heard before: “Let us live simply, so others can simply live.” On Monday Father Dennis O’Donnell spoke to grades 1 to 4 and then to grades 5 to 8 sharing with them pictures and stories of the children whom he has come to know in the orphanage he helps sponsor in Honduras. What a rich Lent and what a beautiful Easter we could experience if we could fast a bit from:

Taking our gift of time, talent, treasure and loved ones for granted Negative talk, hurtful silences or resentment that does not allow forgiveness The need to be always right, the non-acceptance of those who are different The habit of complaining

Archdiocesan Teen Rally at Archbishop Carroll High School on Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 10 AM to 5:30 PM. God and Father of us all, in Jesus, your Son and our Savior, you have made us your sons and daughters in the family of the Church. May your grace and love help our families in every part of the world be united to one another in fidelity to the Gospel. May the example of the Holy Family, with the aid of your Holy Spirit, guide all families, especially those most troubled, to be homes of communion and prayer and to always seek your truth and live in your love. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, pray for us!
