ENCOURAGEMENT This Sunday’s Gospel is our final selection from Mark for this liturgical year. It is taken from the end of Jesus’ teaching in Jerusalem immediately preceding the account of his arrest and passion. In it Jesus gives his disciples hope to sustain them through his passion and death and any persecution or suffering that they would encounter after his resurrection. The words from the book of Daniel also provided hope and encouragement to the people of Daniel’s time. The encouragement in these scriptures is meant for us as well, for none of us will escape tribulation in our lives. Followers of Jesus will be able to endure suffering with joyful hope, knowing that Christ’s love will lead us along the way of discipleship and give us eternal life with God. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.
November 18, 2018 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time “And then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.” (MARK 13:26) We will all have that day when we are standing before God and our life is played out like a movie. When this happens and God asks each of us, “What have you done with the gifts that I have given you?” How will you re-spond?

Thank You A big thank you to all who worked so hard to make the 2018 low country boil / oyster roast such a suc-cess!!! So many parishioners pitched in, worked so hard, spent so much time and effort. With all the planning, shopping, chopping, moving the firewood, setting up the tables, lights, cookpots, music and all the cooking, it shows that when everyone gets in-volved, it all gets done. The appetizers and desserts were not only delicious but also beautiful. The weather was absolutely perfect, which made the evening so nice. The outreach assistance committee was very happy with the sales of the raffle tickets to benefit its important work. -Janice Howard
Thank You I would like to thank everyone who bought tickets for the Spaghetti Dinner on Friday, November 16. 88 tickets were sold, and of those 9 were donated to fami-lies in need. Through your support and generosity of my 3 fundraisers, I have raised two-thirds of the funds needed for my study abroad program! Thank you again for all of your love, prayers, and support. -Kim Liebl
