Dear Parishioners, Today is our Special Mission Appeal. The order assigned to us this year is the Benedictine Sisters of Ferdinand. I believe Sister Mary Victor is coming. We welcome Sister as she speaks about her missionary work. This is through the Diocesan Mission CO-OP Program, which says each parish can have one missionary appeal a year. CONGRATULATIONS to our parish as we celebrate 150 years of celebrating Christ's Sacraments and Word at St. Rupert Church and the Red Brush area next Sunday, August 30. As we have published several times, the schedule of events at St. Rupert will be:
-- Welcome/Social Mixer from 4 -9 PM in the Social Hall. -- Music by George & the Boys from 4 -6 PM in front of the Social
Hall; Blessing of Prayer or Gab House Garden at 6:30 PM (where the Gab House used to stand); followed by Night of Remembrance (bring all your fond and maybe even ✌✍✎✎✏ ✑✒✑✓✔✕✒✖✗✘ ✙✚✓✎✛ ✜✕✢✣ ✤✕✥✖✦ ✧✓✍✎★✒ ✣✓✍✖✒✩
-- Cemetery Walk at 1:00 PM, the main celebration will be Mass at 2:00 PM with Bishop Thompson as main celebrant, along with other visiting priests; we welcome any visiting nuns; if things work out, hope to bring Bishop(s) in on a horse and buggy at 1:45 PM; following Mass meal of pulled pork or burgoo; anniversary cake; see Memorabilia Room in the library; bounce houses; socialize with many visitors; and guilt raffle. We all are extremely excited. We hope you all have this on your calendars. Come and celebrate God's tremendous love for us, and how our ancestors have faithfully served God through the Sacraments and Word for 150 years. WOW !! How blessed we are to have had such faithful ancestors. We stand on their sacrificial shoulders and strong determination to serve God and one another.
