Food for thought: In our first reading this weekend, St. Peter looks after the non-Jewish believers in Jesus, called Gentiles. A lot of the Jewish believers were shocked they could receive the Holy Spirit, too: “believers who had accompanied Peter were astounded that the gift of the Holy Spirit should have been poured out on the Gentiles also, for they could hear them speaking in tongues and glorifying God.” Do we ever act like this? Do we sometimes doubt the Holy Spirit can work through others, maybe people different than us? AND: if we sometimes doubt what God’s Spirit can do, are there times we doubt what the Holy Spirit can do through US? Something to think about. How is God longing to work through you? What are the situations (or people) you might ignore? Pray to the Holy Spirit for guidance. You never know: maybe something miraculous can happen—like at the end of our first reading. Blessings! Fr. Fallon
