Until Help Arrives St. Elizabeth Seton Parish, with help from the Bedford Fire Department, and the Bedford Community Emergency
Response Team (CERT), is proud to present the Until Help Arrives program. The program sponsored by the Women’s Guild will be presented in the Church Hall on Tuesday, March 20th at 6:30 PM and is open to all
parishioners. For questions, please call Donna at 471-0528.
This unique program, developed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is intended to educate the public on how to save lives, provide care and take action until professional help arrives in the event of an
emergency.
It will be delivered by an Emergency Medical Technician from the Bedford Fire Department who will present, based on real-world experience, how to safely take the steps that have the capability to save lives. Life threatening emergencies can happen anywhere - on the road, in the neighborhood, at home, and even in church. Studies show
that proper action, executed quickly, can have significant positive effects. We can’t always depend on first re-sponders to quickly come to our aid. In many cases, YOU are the help, until help arrives.
During this Lenten journey, our
parish community has prayed,
fasted, and given alms with a
special focus on the poorest
members of our global community.
Through our Lenten prayers and
donations, we have touched the lives
of millions of people served by Catholic Relief
Services, our representative to the poorest
communities in the world.
Rice Bowls will be collected next weekend,
March 24th-25th.
Thank you for your generosity!
From the Pastor’s Desk I am very pleased to inform you that a couple from our parish has made a very generous donation to the parish for the purpose of establishing a scholarship assistance fund for deserving high school seniors as they prepare for college. A committee, composed of several parishioners, will work with me in making the award(s) to deserving student(s). They must be parishioners of the parish, who are deemed to have been ac-tive within the parish and in any other activities that are of a “service to others nature” and best exemplify the characteristics of outstanding young Catholics in their personal, school, church and community life. Further information regarding this scholarship fund will be forthcoming in the next few weeks. I am indeed most grateful to the couple who have made such a thoughtful gift to help recognize
the wonderful and outstanding young people of our parish. Should any other parishioners wish to
contribute to this fund, please contact me at your convenience.
The Knights of Columbus 40 Cans for Lent
will be collected next weekend, Palm Sunday weekend, (March 24th -25th).
Monetary donations gladly accepted and will be used to purchase food.
Food that is shelf-stable is requested. Collect items such as peanut butter, canned
vegetables, soup, canned tuna or chicken, pasta, and pasta sauces.

24-Hour Fast
Our 24-hour fast retreat for high school
teens will take place on Saturday, March 24. As part of the FAST, we are teaming up with Catholic Relief Services and Helping Hands to produce over 10,000 meal paks to be
shipped to Burkina Faso, Africa. During the retreat, teens will also hear about local
agencies serving those in need and engage in works of mercy.
We invite all parishioners to participate in the FAST in the following ways.
*PLEASE pray for our fasters!
*Consider volunteering in some way . . we need helpers for different activities during the 24-hours. *donate your plastic grocery bags. One of the activities will be to assemble plarn (plastic yarn made from grocery bags to be used by the Prayer Shawl Ministry to make sleeping mats for the homeless). Boxes will be placed in the Narthex and activity center to place your donations.
*donate and/or participate in the Help-ing Hands event with our teens.
