We Catholics of Blessed Sacrament, Sacred Heart, and St. Eugene Parishes of Western Oklahoma gather as community to continue the mission of Jesus Christ. We Praise the Lord. We proclaim the Good News. We celebrate the sacramental life of faith. We serve others as Jesus taught us. As disciples we follow the Lord and invite others to come walk with us.

THANKSGIVING EVE MASS WITH BREAD EXCHANGE Our parishes had a tradition of coming together on Thanksgiving Eve to celebrate Thanksgiving Mass. They brought homemade bread or dinner rolls, which were blessed at Mass, and then took bread home that was brought by someone else. Some people put a greeting or prayer with their bread. This symbolic gesture of sharing bread and celebrating Mass together united our parish family. ON WEDNESDAY, WE CONTINUE THE CUSTOM WITH MASS AT 6:30. WELCOME ALL!
THANKSGIVING DAY MASS, 9:00 AM, St. Eugene’s.
RCIA (RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS) will be during the 10:30 Mass on Sunday, December 1. It is one of the first steps in the spiritual journey of those attending class to learn more of the Catholic teachings.

Reflection: The kingship of Christ has always been very different than the world expected. Many of Jesus’ disciples hoped for an earthly Messiah who would overthrow the Romans. But Jesus says that his kingdom is “not of this world.” And yet it is a very real kingdom. Jesus is a very real Lord. And we are called to invite Jesus to be king of our lives. It was Pope Pius XI, in 1925, who called the Church (and the world) back to a sense of hope in Christ. He instituted the solemnity of Christ the King on the last Sunday before Advent. Christ the King Sunday is the last Sunday of the Liturgical Year.

ADVENT ROSARY BEFORE MASS starts next Sunday, Dec 1, and will be prayed at 10:10 before Sunday Advent Masses at St. Eugene. Please arrive at Church in time to join others in praying the rosary. ADVENT: We enter into a waiting and anticipation period. It is a time to prepare for the coming of Christ. Masses will have a few subtle changes, for instance: The Gloria will be omitted during Advent. The Apostle Creed will be recited instead of the Nicene Creed. It is found on page 13 of the Advent Missal (United in Christ). The Lord’s Prayer will be recited (not sung). Rosary will be prayed before Advent Masses at St. Eugene.
To Christ, King of the Universe O Christ Jesus, I acknowledge You King of the Universe. All that has been created has been made for You. Exercise upon me all your rights. I renew my baptismal promises renouncing Satan and all his works and promises. I promise to lead a good Christian life and to do all in my power to procure the triumph of the rights of God and Your Church. Divine Heart of Jesus, I offer You my poor actions in order to obtain that all hearts may acknowledge Your sacred royalty and that thus the reign of Your peace may be established throughout the universe. Amen.
