St. Johns County is the 22nd fastest growing county in the United States with a 3.7% growth rate. Contributing to St. Johns County’s popularity are the county’s low tax structure, top-ranked public schools, low cost of living, and unique natural amenities - all which make the county a premier Northeast Florida location. Capitalizing on its global appeal, St. Johns County is poised for economic growth through its pro-business environment, favorable climate, and outstanding community services.

Economic development goals include creating high-wage jobs for residents, increasing the average county wage, and enhancing the commercial tax base. This update is intended to provide a quick glance to highlight specific department activities performed to encourage these outcomes. Melissa S. Glasgow Director of Economic Development
