SJCA does not require students to take the AP exams in May. SJCA does not allow freshmen to take AP classes. Enrollment in AP courses for sophomores, juniors and seniors is by instructor permission. Over 85% of SJCA graduates have taken at least 1 AP course. Over 67% of SJCA graduates have taken at least 1 AP exam. On average, SJCA AP students take 3 to 4 AP classes. Over 100 SJCA students are AP Scholars. 66% of students who took the AP exams received a score of 3 or higher. In the past, the school day was comprised of seven 48-minute classes per day. The SJCA J-Term provides a supplement to tradional educaon through experienal learning for 10 days. ACTIVITIES AND ATHLETICS Students at SJCA parcipate in a wide array of compeve sports, clubs, and organizaons. Students are encouraged to pursue their interests and passions to the fullest. All SJCA students are required to be in a club and students are encour- aged to take leadership roles in these acvies. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, clubs are current- ly not offered this semester. While students fin- ished the remainder of the year virtually, SJCA maintained its high academic standards. Students were expected to aend all classes, be accountable for their work, receiving leer grades reflecng their learning. SJCA opened to in-person instrucon this fall. Over 90% of the class of 2021 aend SJCA in person. The remaining 10% aend virtually. All students are required to follow SJCA aendance, grading, and behavior policies. Due to the pandemic, clubs, service, and other extracurricular acvies are being moved to the spring 2021 semester. Almost 90% of our student body receives discounted tuion, scholarships or financial aid. Commied to educaonal accessibility for all, SJCA parcipates in the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program, a state voucher program for economically disadvantaged students.
