Anointing of the Sick Trilingual Mass Sunday, April 19th, 2015

Our parish community will celebrate a special "Anointing of the Sick Mass" on Sunday, April 19th at 3pm in the church. This will be a tri-lingual celebration, mass and music in English, Spanish and Taga-log. We invite everyone to bring those in their families who need this beautiful and comforting sacrament.

Please join your family member who would benefit from the "Anointing of the Sick" and from this exciting Mass.

Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament which is available to the following baptized people:

► those who suffer from any serious or critical illness, ► those who suffer from any serious mental or emotional concerns, ► those who suffer from serious illness caused by age, ► those who are over age 65 and have not been anointed the past year, ► those who have already been anointed for a serious illness, but it has been more than a year, ► those who have already been anointed, but now suffer from a different illness, ► those who have already been anointed, but the same illness grows worse, ► those who are going to surgery due to serious illness, ► small children who are seriously ill and who have sufficient use of reason to understand and respond to the sacrament with faith.

There will be a Reception in the hall following the mass, everyone is invited. We hope that families will bring their loved ones and join them for the mass. This is a special opportunity for those who are too ill to attend mass often.

Misa de Unción de los Enfermos Domingo, 19 de Abril, del 2015

Nuestra comunidad parroquial celebrará una “Misa de Unción de los Enfermos”, el Domingo 19 de Abril a las 3pm en la iglesia. Está misa será una celebración trilingüe, música en Ingles, Español y Tagalog. Los invitamos a que traigán a sus familiares que necesiten de esté hermoso y consolador sacramento.

Por favor acompañe al miembro de su familia a está misa de "Unción de los Enfermos".

La Unción de los Enfermos es un sacramento que está disponible para las siguientes persona bautizadas:

► aquellos que sufren de una enfermedad seria o critica, ► aquellos que sufren de problemas serios mentales o emocionales, ► aquellos que padecen de enfermedades serias a causa de la edad, ► aquellos mayores de 65 años y que no fueron ungidos el pasado año, ► aquellos que ya fueron ungidos por una enfermedad seria, pero hace más de un año, ► aquellos que ya fueron ungidos, pero ahora sufren de enfermedad diferente, ► aquellos que ya fueron ungidos de la misma enfermedad y están peor, ► aquellos que van a ser operados de una enfermedad seria, ► niños pequeños que están graves y tienen suficiente uso de la razón para entender y responder al sacramento con fe.

Habrá una Recepción en el salón parroquial después de la misa, todos están invitados. Esperamos que acompañen a sus familiares a está misa. Está es una gran oportunidad para los que están muy enfermos y que no pueden venir a misa seguido.

OF ONE HEART AND MIND

Reading about the faith of the early Christian believ-ers can be a real inspiration to those of us who have been Christians for a long time, as well as for those who are newly baptized. Can you imagine people of this world being “of one heart and mind” as was the first community of believers? Today’s First Letter of John seems to hold the key to how this can be accomplished. Keeping God’s commandments and loving all of God’s children seems to be the start of being “of one heart and mind.” We live in a world that stresses differences—differences among relig-ions, among races, between genders, and among eco-nomic classes. Today we are summoned to focus on what we all share in common on this fragile planet of ours.

Al leer sobre la fe de las primeras comunidades de creyentes puede ser fuente de gran inspiración para los que han sido cristianos por largo tiempo, como también para los que acaban de ser bautizados. ¿Te puedes imaginar a gente de hoy que “tiene un solo corazón y una sola alma” igual que la primera comunidad de creyentes? La primera carta de san Juan que leemos hoy es la clave que nos dice cómo podemos lograrlo. Si guardamos los mandamientos de Dios y si amamos a todos los hijos de Dios parece ser la base de poder tener un “un solo corazón y una sola alma”. Vivimos en un mundo que recalca las diferencias –ya sean entre religiones, razas, géneros y clases. Hoy se nos pide que nos enfoquemos en lo que tenemos en común en este frágil planeta que ocupamos.
