PRAY FOR OUR SICK
Page 3
Greetings and Salutations,
Hard to believe it is the last day of March.
Baseball season is almost upon us. Opening
day is this week. Go Tigers! GrrrrrRoar!
In today’s Gospel we hear about a father’s
love and forgiveness. When I was younger
this reading gave me feelings of anger. As I
have grown in faith I now understand and
feel happy that the son returned to his
Father and made amends.
Reflection: What does the younger son do
with the money his father gives him? Do you
think he is wise or foolish? How does the
father greet him when he returns? Were you
surprised the father ran to greet his son and
kissed him after what the son had done?
It is through our own understanding God’s
love for us that we can celebrate
forgiveness; if we are the son, or the father,
or the other brother who stayed faithful.

Queen’s Quotes from
Religious Formation
From the Pastor’s Desk
We just celebrated the Solemnity of the Assumption,
the feast day of our parish. We all know the story of
the Angel Gabriel visiting Mary, and Mary’s
willingness to trust totally in God and the angel’s
message. Recently I was going through a prayer book,
and I discovered this prayer entitled, “A Prayer to the
Cause of Our Joy.” It gives an even greater perspective
to the name of our parish
O Mary, who abandoned your soul to happiness by
offering it to God, grant that in our gift to God, our joy
may be complete.
O Virgin radiant with joy, grant that we may believe in
the happiness which God in His love wills to offer us;
Make joy bloom again in hearts given over to sadness;
Teach us to detach ourselves from worldly pleasures to
see our happiness in God;
Help us to radiate the witness of Christian joy;
Through your presence in our life, be for us a font of
joy which is ever new.
O Mary, who received from God the deepest joy, help
us to live in true joy, the joy of Christ. Amen
Fr. Ken

Anointing of the Sick
THIS Friday, April 5
The celebration of the Sacrament of
Anointing of the Sick is intended for anyone
who is seriously impaired by sickness,
chronic illness, old age, addictions, or emotional problems
and for those who are about to undergo surgery, serious
medical testing or be admitted to the hospital. You do not
need to receive the sacrament every month, only when your
medical condition changes drastically. The Sacrament of
Anointing of the Sick takes place monthly at St. Mary, Cause
of Our Joy. It will be this Friday, April 5 beginning with the
celebration of the 8:30am Mass.
To make arrangements to celebrate the sacrament at other
times, please contact our parish office. Patients in hospitals
and residents in nursing homes can be anointed if they did
not celebrate the sacrament prior to admission. They or their
family members should contact the institution’s Catholic
chaplain to make similar arrangements, or call the parish
office.

JUNE JAMBOREE COMMITTEE
Needs YOUR Help!!
It is that time of year again! Time to start thinking about our annual

new digital sign in front of our church. Let’s see if we can make it
happen again! Thank you in advance!!
We would like to put the following items together for the raffle buckets
for this years June Jamboree -
