Journey into the Catholic FaithAre you contemplating joining the Catholic Church? Take the Jour-ney with us at St. Peter’s Parish.

St. Peter’s Parish will soon begin a new journey in faith to explore the richness of the Catholic Church and what the church teaches through the Rite of Christian Initia-tion for Adults. We have sessions that are opportunities for you to ask those perplexing and difficult questions you may have about the Church. These gatherings are for inquirers and all who are unbaptized, as well as those who are baptized Christians from Protestant or Evangeli-cal backgrounds. Our first session will be at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, October 3rd in the All purpose Room. For more information contact the parish office or Rose Par-quette at 6545594 or Marlene Schlecht at 5522941.

“Woe to the person who leads the little ones astray. It is better that a millstone were tied around his neck and that he were drowned in the depths of the sea”.

What would Christ say of today’s abortionists who terminate the lives of the little ones even before they see the light of day?

Or of today’s drug pushers who wreck the lives of the young? Or of those who corrupt the young, pouring slops over their souls?

If you saw a young tree vandalized you would be angry because of what that tree could have be-come. Christ saw a marvelous potential in every child (and in every person). He did not want to see that potential ruined.

A writer, looking at a little child in a railway car-riage, said: “This is a life full of beautiful promise. Little princes in legends are no different from this. Protected, sheltered, cultivated, what could this child not become?”

Calling all boys and girls who are interested in being an altar server at St. Pe-

ter’s. If you are interested have your parents email me at [email protected] or call the parish of-fice. Then I will set a time for server practice with all the servers. Also, I will want to meet with you and your parents.

As we approach the end or our first full month of school at All Saints Cath-olic School, we celebrate all those that are part of our ASCS family. We are grateful for our parishioners and priests that support our community. We currently have a total of 582 students enrolled in our 3 yearold Saints in Training program and 4K8th grades at our North and South campuses. We are blessed to have those families that were with us last year who continue to invite new families into our ASCS circle. Thank you for your positive testimony that continues to be priceless to All Saints Catholic School. If you would like to enroll your child for the 201819 school year, there is still time to do so. Please call Sue Wendorf for more information (262)9254024 and/or to schedule a tour.

Feast of St. Faustina!

SaintFaustina’s name is for-ever linked to the annual feast of the Divine Mercy, the Divine Mercy chaplet, and the Divine Mercy prayer recited each day at 3 p.m. by many people. Born in what is now westcentral Poland, Helena Kowalska was the third of 10 children. She worked as a housekeep-er in three cities before join-ing the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy in 1925. She worked as a cook, gardener and porter in three of their houses. At a time when some Catholics had an image of God as such a strict judge that they might be tempted to despair (continued on page 4b)

about the possibility of being forgiven, Je-sus chose to emphasize his mercy and for-giveness for sins acknowledged and con-fessed. “I do not want to punish aching mankind,” he once told SaintFaustina, “but I desire to heal it, pressing it to

my merciful heart.” The two rays ema-nating from Christ’s heart, she said, repre-sent the blood and water poured out after Jesus’ death. Because Sister Maria Faustina knew that the revelations she had already received did not constitute holiness itself, she wrote in her diary: “Neither graces, nor revelations, nor raptures, nor gifts granted to a soul make it perfect, but rather the intimate union of the soul with God. These gifts are merely ornaments of the soul, but constitute neither its essence nor its perfection. My sanctity and perfection consist in the close union of my will with the will of God.” To celebrate her feast day, reflect on these beautiful quotes from her diary: “Let Souls who are striving for perfection particularly adore My mercy, be-cause the abundance of graces which I grant them flows from My mercy.”“When a soul approaches Me with trust, I fill it with such an abundance of graces that it cannot contain them within itself, but radiates them to oth-er souls.”

“I have found that the greatest power is hidden patience. I see that patience always leads to victory, although not immediately; but that victory will become manifest after many years.”
