FAMILY PERSPECTIVES
Notice that Jesus “was led by the Spirit into the wilderness.” What is a wilderness in your life to which the Holy Spirit is leading you this
Lent? Perhaps there are uncharted areas in your marriage or family
relationships which you have avoided? In the forty days of Lent, it is not a matter of us
working on things but God working in us. Open your heart, trust the Spirit and spend
this Lent in “your wilderness.”

Please remember and pray for our catechumens (unbaptized) and our candidates (baptized in a n o t h e r C h r i s t i a n tradition). Today they are taking a significant
step toward full initiation in our Catholic Christian community. They will participate in a diocesan wide prayer service (Rite of Election) led by Bishop Perez at St. John Cathedral. They will be fully initiated at our Easter Vigil on April 20 at 7:30 p.m. Please strongly consider coming to this celebration, the high point of our liturgical year. Their names are:
Please take advantage of our subscription to FORMED. You can connect at any time with this outstanding resource for Catholic Christian information and formation by going to our website www.stvincentchurch.com. Many of you have valued the reflections given by Matthew Kelly. He is not one of the FORMED presenters. You can receive his free daily Lenten reflections by going to dynamiccatholic.com/daily-reflections. Many of the over 80 participants in the first Christ-Life series, Discovering Christ, will be joining the follow-up series, Following Christ, which begins Monday, March 18. Next fall we will offer the first series again. Hopefully many more of you will become involved in this excellent information and formation series. Please make this Lenten season a great opportunity for your growth as a follower of Jesus Christ and as an active member of the Catholic Christian Church. If you made a specific intention for spiritual growth this past Ash Wednesday and you have already fallen short – get up and start over. Our faith should be a great resource for being resilient – at times we get down but with the Lord's help we can get back up and keep growing.
Please keep in prayer those who have
recently passed away and their families.

ALTAR SOCIETY NEWS
"The Altar Society members are making plans for our March meeting, and we invite anyone interested to join us! Please note this month's date and location have changed to TUESDAY, MARCH 19th,
IN THE RECTORY DINING ROOM. See you soon!" SAVE THE DATE SUNDAY, MAY 5
Spring is just around the corner! It's time for our annual May Breakfast sponsored by the Altar Society. We have fun entertainment this year, and ALL ARE WELCOME.
A WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY HAS COME YOUR WAY!
That would be the Auxiliary’s one-time-a-year request for your monetary donation!
The BAKELESS BAKE SALE letter comes at the beginning of the Lenten season, a time when we all reflect on and assess our role in the lives of
others. With your help, many people are relieved of the stress of wondering how to get enough food for the week. With your help, a mother can prepare her own meal at home for her family. You can make a difference in the lives of many by helping to provide basic nourishment and also provide a feeling that someone cares! Thank you for all of your many past gifts and for opening your heart to others!

INTERCESSORY PRAYER
REQUEST
Many of our parish friends will be continuing their journey of faith and renewal by participating in the upcoming ChristLife series: Following Christ. We again ask that the St. Vincent de Paul community pray for all who will be participating in, leading, and supporting this program:
Come, Holy Spirit, and inspire our sisters and brothers to respond to your invitation to know Jesus Christ more deeply and to grow into ardent and committed discipleship. Please energize and guide the team in their leadership, encouragement, and support. And help us all to encounter and follow our Source of New Life, Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

This program consists of a weekend experience for couples and six follow-up sessions. A registration fee of $150 is required to confirm your reservation. NEED FOR CLOTHING - OZANAM CENTER
The Ozanam Center has been giving out enormous amounts of clothing this year. Due to the high volume we have found ourselves without winter clothing already. If you would like to donate clothing we would love to have it. We take donations during the time we are open, Saturdays from 9:30-Noon. If you can get them to us, we will help you offload them and also be very grateful! Thank you in advance for helping us help our clients.

“WHAT CAN I SAY…” Each week during Lent there will be an excerpt from the following article: “What can I say to my kids when they ask me why we keep faith in this church?”
Kerry Weber, America Magazine, August 15, 2018
Stay tuned for next week’s excerpt...
We hope that your faith inspires you to be just, loving, humble and merciful. We hope that your faith inspires you to encourage the church to be more just, more loving, more humble and more merciful. We hope that you find community here, people who will support you, love you, challenge you. We hope that your faith community inspires you to reach out to the larger community – to love others, to challenge them and support them. We hope that your faith inspires you to care for those in need, to be like the shepherd who smells like sheep, to perform the corporal and spiritual works of mercy, to be mercy for others.

A Busy March Continues! We have had an exciting fun week raising funds for security and technology with the energetic Boosterthon team. The students loved meeting and interacting with Ferrari Ari, Tech Tyler and Jazzy J! Families and students loved our St. Vincent Glow Fun Run on Thursday. Thank you for your continued support. We will let you know how much we raised as soon as we can. We are appreciative of the families that have completed their registration information and encourage those of you that have not to do so as soon as possible. Once again, all registration forms are now due to the school office. It is particularly helpful to return your registration immediately so that we may continue to plan for the 2019-2020 school year. As of now we are still accepting applications in preschool, kindergarten, first, second, and third grades. We have a new STEM partner, Country Pure Foods! We have partnered with Country Pure Foods (CPF), an Akron-based manufacturer that provides juice products to schoolchildren to further our student’s knowledge of the food industry. Students in grades three and six took part in research for new products by participating in sensory testing and giving feedback on 100% fruit and vegetable juice flavors and colors. Students will also have the opportunity to learn about the new product development process, develop solutions to problems, and learn more about careers in the industry. With the students help, CPF will launch new products to school cafeterias across the nation. Peace and blessings, Mrs. Salamon
