A WORD FROM THE PASTOR
Happy Easter to all of you! My first celebration of Sunday Eucharist at this parish was Easter 2016. In these past two years I have come to appreciate what a vibrant, joyful, faith-filled, and caring parish community we are. I want especially to welcome those here today
who may join us only occasionally throughout the year. We value your presence. If you have been hurt by the church in any way or gradually slipped away from weekly participation, please contact us. We want to be a source of healing and hope, inspiration and guidance for you and your loved ones. Many active parishioners have told me that they were away from the church, some even away from God for a period of time. Almost all have said that coming back, they have experienced a renewed sense of belonging, a greater understanding of our Catholic Christian faith, and a deeper experience of God's love, revealed through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, our greatest Friend.
Whether Catholic or not – if you wish to learn more about our Catholic Christian faith, please contact me at [email protected].
During this upcoming 50-day Easter season, we will provide opportunities for all to be spiritually renewed by experiencing the presence of the Risen Lord in our midst. On Saturday morning, April 14, from 9-10:30 a.m. in the Family Center Scullen Room, we will have an uplifting, inspirational gathering whose theme is Growing in Faith, Deepening in Prayer. Within that event we will talk about future parish possibilities to become more vital in our everyday faith.
FORMED
Happy Easter Sunday!!! The Lord has risen, Alleluia!!! He has shared and continues to share with us the gift of His most precious Divine
Mercy! He asks of us to share that same Divine Mercy message with others so that they may come to know the fullness of his love and mercy. Since 2000, by declaration of Pope John Paul II, Divine Mercy Sunday is celebrated on the Second Sunday of Easter. If you are interested in finding out more about Divine Mercy, please use the following suggestions from FORMED to help better understand the Divine Mercy of Jesus! Access to FORMED has been previously provided to each SVDP Parishioner. Once you have logged in, please enter one of these titles into the search bar. (Tab Location - select specific tab after completing the search.)

FAMILY PERSPECTIVES
In the confusion of Easter morning, Peter proved to be a mentor to the younger disciple in today’s gospel. Even though the younger disciple arrived first at the empty tomb, he waited for Peter to make sense of this confusing event. Children in our families and neighborhoods also need mentors to help them make sense out of the confusing times and bewildering events that surround their lives. We can help our young people “see and believe” just like the young disciple in the gospel.

REVITALIZE, RENEW and REJOICE!
A $1.6 Million Campaign to Restore
the Building and Grounds of our Parish, School, and Cemetery
Happy Easter to all! May the joy of the season fill your hearts.
Many thanks to all who have contributed to the success of our efforts. As of March 19, we have pledges or donations totaling $983,733. Please continue to pray that we meet our goal and accomplish the work we have outlined.
The initial stage of renovations begins with new LED lighting for the gym and school. The installation is underway! Contracts for tuck pointing and other work on the outside of the church are being processed along with roofing contracts. Contracts for work to be done during the summer in the school are coming along, too. Some work will also begin at the cemetery as the weather permits.
If you have not had a chance to join in our efforts, please consider a donation. For those not familiar with the scope of our campaign, please look for a Revitalize, Renew and Rejoice! envelope at the end of the pew or in the basket by the campaign poster at each door. The packet contains a brochure, pledge/donation card, and return envelope. There are also envelopes with yellow borders in the small holders in each pew that are for campaign donations. May God bless all who are helping us restore the treasures entrusted to us by those who came before us.
Please contact me if you have any questions or want to discuss anything about our efforts.
