Following the river south we leave the Thames Path at Kingston and cut across suburban London. The route is almost entirely flat along tarmac through Berrylands, Ewell and into the London Borough of Sutton as we approach the end of stage 1, on the southern edge of London.

From Oaks Park we continue south to Coulsdon and over the North Downs - the first tough uphill of the challenge (but not the last!) and then onto footpaths and small roads as we climb and then descend towards the M25. Undulating countryside footpaths lead us towards Tulley’s Farm for our half way rest stop and 56 km finish point.
