CENTRAL COAST DRAMA FESTIVAL This week, Wednesday to Friday, 20 Stage Three students will be attending the annual Drama festival at Niagara Park, culminating in a performance on Friday at 3:30pm at Niagara Park PS. Miss Chapman organises the event and Miss Pagan will be guiding the students with their performance. Have fun!

BUSH FIRE SEASON and BRISBANIA PS The bushfire season runs from 1 October to 31 March each year. As such, it is timely to remind the community that Brisbania PS is in a bush fire prone area and is placed on the Bush Fire Register of the Department of Education (DoE).

Should a catastrophic fire danger rating be issued, it is a DoE directive that the school be closed until the rating is lifted. Please be aware that the school will advise of closure via social media and the radio after 4:30pm the previous day. Staff would be required to report to the closest open school, while students are under parental supervision at home.

SECURITY Our school security hotline is 1300 880 021. Please call the hotline if you see or hear anyone on the premises out of school hours.

Enjoy the week. Annette Parrey

Stage 2 League Touch

On Wednesday November 6, Stage 2 students attended a Rugby League touch

gala day at Doyalson Oval. Students played 8 mini games against a range of

Central Coast Schools. All students had a lovely day participating in the exciting,

non-scoring games that focused on kids having FUN in sport.

The weather was beautiful and sunny, so by the end of the day everyone

involved was exhausted and all students persevered to show their Brisbania spirit

and sportsmanship.

Well done to all our students who attended and the parents that made the trek

to support our Brisbania crew.

Thank you to Miss O’Brien, Ms Simpson and Mrs Howe who assisted with

supervision, and a special mention to Victoria who transported the gazebos and

parents that helped out putting up/taking down.

URGENT A number of families still owe the canteen money for lunches supplied during the year. We would appreciate it if all money owed could be paid as soon as possible. Please send money directly to the canteen in a clearly labelled envelope. If you are not sure how much you owe, please ring Paula or Rose in the canteen (ring the school and ask for the canteen). Thank you. THE END OF THE YEAR IS FAST APPROACHING… Please remember us when you’re doing your Christmas shopping. REBEL SPORT All purchases at Rebel can go towards credits for our school. If you have a Rebel card please ask the store to link it to Brisbania Public School next time you buy something. You only need to link it once and then all purchases count towards credits for the school. In the past, we have used credits to purchase good quality balls for the various sports teams as well as other sporting equipment. We have used credits to buy items for raffle prizes. SAVE THE DATE! Wednesday 20 November - CASEY’S VIP SHOPPING NIGHT This year with all purchases get a 10% discount, and 10% of all sales go to the school in vouchers. Wine, bubbly and snacks are provided so it’s a great way to do some Christmas shopping without having to fight the crowds! Previously we have used our vouchers to purchase resources for the Kindy classrooms, purchase games for our new library and to use as prizes for raffles. AGM Our final meeting for the year and AGM is on 19 November at 6.30pm in the staffroom. If you are a paid member please make every effort to attend the AGM so that you can vote for the new executive. Have a great week Suzanne Petrie Sapsford P&C President

Tuesday

It’s that time of year again with Christmas just around the corner and you’re thinking about gift giving. It’s so hard to find a gift that is inexpensive, enjoyable & keeps on giving. Giving the gift of reading does just that & book club offers something every child will enjoy. In the bumper Christmas issue you will find a wide variety including something for pre-schoolers right through to the teens with some fantastic savings. Don’t want your

child to see what you have purchased? You can select the gift option on checkout & you will be contacted to pick your order up from the office. Every order you place earns rewards dollars for the school to use purchasing important resources benefiting every child. What a wonderful gift.

Thank you for your continued support throughout 2019 and we wish you all a wonderful Christmas and holidays with family and friends. Orders close midnight 2 December 2019!

Santa will be visiting to collect the gifts.

YOU DID IT BBQ Lunchtime

Our annual YOU DID IT BBQ for students, who have displayed good behaviour all Term 4

COLOUR RUN

Afternoon Reward activity

promotes physical and mental health and school spirit.

If your child will not be participating in the You Did It BBQ or Colour Run,
