PostNord’s Instagram competition, #mittfrimärke, allowed Swedes to compete for the first time to have their Instagram pictures depicted on actual stamps.

More than 20,000 Instagram pictures participated in the competition, of

which three winners were selected by the Swedish people and an additional

four winners were selected by PostNord’s Stamp Advisory Committee.

Contemporary depiction of SwedenStamps are popular, but the interest in the #mittfrimärke

competition exceeded all expectations. The stamps that are

issued should reflect a contemporary view of Sweden, which

makes it all the more fun to turn Instagram pictures into

real stamps.

ters up to 50 g from Sweden. The design

Per Anders FogelströmGave a voice to Stockholm’s working class and impoverishedPer Anders Fogelström (1917–1998) came from a white collar family.

He debuted as an author in the 1940s and is most known for his

five-volume series about the working class and impoverished in

Stockholm. You could say he became their voice. The first novel in

the series, Mina drömmars stad (City of My Dreams), was published

in 1960. The stamp motifs are inspired by this novel. Fogelström

was strongly committed to peace and for many years served as

the President of the Swedish Peace and Arbitration Society.
