THE BOSS
Division Commander
This past month we have a lot of movement going on for the division. Due to the con-
tinued low population and chance of merger nonexistent on Prophecy of the Five (POT5), we have had to take
a hard look at the continued involvement of the guild. What we did was dispatch members to look into the other
servers around the SW:TOR community and what we discovered was that the PvP servers were dying off. Due
to this fact we started looking at the PvE servers and found two servers that were consistent in there popula-
tion.
These servers were The Harbinger and The Shadowlands. The only difference in these servers were mainly there loca-
tions. What we found is that due to our community being majorly east coast that The Shadowlands server proved to be the
best choice for location but how would this server serve for our community. Well the answer to this is that the server holds
almost double the population as POT5. This population allows for quicker que time for warzones, GSF, flashpoints, and
operations. In addition to this, more population means more possible members to join the TAW community.

DEAR DARTH ABBY
Division Officer Hello, gang!
This week's installment culls from the most pressing questions of the last week.
What's all this about Shadowlands? Glad you asked! Prophecy of the Five is slowly losing its population but Shad-
owlands is thriving. BioWare has offered Character Transfers for 90 Cartel Coins, allowing those interested to explore life
on a more populated Server.
Sounds complicated? Do I have to move? No! TAW will be supporting communities (for the foreseeable future) on
both Servers. We will have TAW Republic and TAW Empire on both servers.
How do I take advantage of the transfer? It's a relatively simple process done at the SW:TOR site. It takes about an
hour to complete and requires that you have no pending mail or auctions. Legacy Storage Items do not transfer but all of
your Inventory and Personal Storage does.
This sounds too good to be true. What's the catch? You're right. There are some downsides to this process. Shadow-
lands will have to re-establish its Guild Bank for both Factions. It will also have to start over with the Guild Ship. On a
more Legacy oriented level, if you transfer, then you will have to re-decorate your stronghold(s). We will also have to re-
spect the fact that some are just not interested in switching.
Why Shadowlands? Isn't it a PvE server? The short answer is that it's a full server. Along with that many in the
Ranked PvP community from various servers have decided to focus the community on Shadowlands. Being a PvE serv-
er, it allows the majority of our members to just do dailies without the constant potential for interruption that a PvP server
conveys. It's also and East Coast server so our community won't have to adjust how we think about time.
And that's the main questions from the week! See you all in game soonest!

THE BOSS Continues
Division Commander
The down side is that we would have to rebuild our guild ships and the transferring of toons to this server if you wish.
I want to let everyone know that this is not a required move. We will be supporting both servers and that moving to
The Shadowlands is completely voluntary. For those interested information about moving to the new server is provid-
ed within this month’s newsletter. Remember we will always be one TAW no matter what servers we play on.

REPUBLIC HIGH COMMAND
Republic Commanding Officer Hello all,
I am Thermz the Commanding Officer for Republic Battalion in Star wars Division. It’s been an exciting month in SWTOR. It
is a testament to how strong we are as a gaming community, that in spite of low server population we have been still been
able to bring new people and retain our members at the same time. There is hope on the horizon since server transfers have
recently become so inexpensive right now. For me it's an exciting thought to move a couple characters to another server and
bring our community to a larger group of people. From the little time I have spent on the Shadowlands server, It looks like
that server will be a good fit for the majority of us. But there are still other servers to look over and in the coming weeks.
There is a lot of logistics to consider before making such a bold move. Thanks to the great leadership of Quigon and
Becmacde, members will have that option to move their characters sooner than later. With an upcoming expansion due out
later this year and current 12x experience bonus, it is a fantastic time to be playing. The Republic Battalion has had a lot of
recent success with new fireteams forming and new members flooding in, thanks solely to the incredible group of officers we
currently have. I am also excited to announce that we are currently looking for excellent members to become drill instructors!
To me, drill instructors are the most important position in Taw to have. Its rewarding and a great way to meet new people
who come to find a good group of people to hang out with. There is a lot of work that happens behind the scenes to keep our
division sustainable and moving forward. Efforts by people just like you, that in that past have decided to give back and step
up. If you find yourself in a position where you want to be a part of leadership and have the skills to do so, I encourage you to
step up and offer what you have to help strengthen our community.

SCHYZO’S RAMBLINGS
European Staff Officer
We have been busy this month. We started killing conquest commanders to get us the encryption plans. Also our fire team has
been moved from 2 x4 to 1x8 formation. We are still getting our feet wet as is, but we are making some awesome progress.
This is mostly because of our amazing FL VerdantHour, her patience and focus has helped this team firm up. Our Youtube chan-
nel will soon be on a schedule for weekly vids. We are still trying to bolster our ranks with recruiting. A couple recruits made it to
full blown PFC's this month so that's awesome. We had to remove one member for using the chair exploit, we exercise a zero tol-
erance handle on exploits. —- Schyzo, European SO
STAR TAW BANK
Division Bankers
Hello everyone. How was your June? Anyway on to Bank stuff. The guild repairs have been turned back on for those who didn't
know. We also have a lot of stuff in Officer tab that we need get rid of. These items are half price from Auction House. I am current
working on the Bank Policy to make thing easy for new members and returning members that might need know it. Also don't forget
to donate to the guild bank. If you reach 1 million credit you get nice shiny tab but if you donate more you can get a badge. If you
donate 3 million credits you get the Basic Carry badge, 6 Million Credits will give you the Advance Badge, and for 18 million credit
donated to bank you will get you the Expert Badge. Well that is it for me see you guys next month.

IMPERIAL HIGH COMMAND
Empire Commanding Officer Greetings Everyone,
Last month’s newsletter focused on TAW as a community. This week I would like to talk about leadership within
TAW. All leadership positions from the top down are voluntary. All of us when volunteering were looking to help the TAW SWTOR community. Being a leader is a great way to get to know your fellow players and lend a helping hand as needed. TAW is always on the lookout for new up and coming leaders within our ranks and it may be you. The first step to becoming a leader is asking our staff. However, sometimes taking that first step in volunteering may be the hardest step to take. The easiest way to overcome that is talk to your existing leadership and ask questions. We are here to help. I believe SWTOR has some of the best leaders within TAW as a whole. There are a great bunch of people who keep our guild strong. You too can be the next great leader in TAW, just take the first step!

FROM THE CANTINA
Training and Recruiting Information
This month the Training Unit with the Bankers have rolled out a new badge. This badge is directly attached to helping fi-
nance the guild. In doing so you can earn a badge for donating 3, 6, and 18 million credits to the guild. The training division
would again also like to thank the training instructors for their dedication to doing badge checks on the membership. In doing
so we are now up to having 61% of the division inspected and an amazing 67% of the European and Imperial units updated.
If you think you are qualified for a badge just contact a training instructor for a badge check.
—- Ryaden, Imperial TS
Hey everyone! I just want to say great job getting all the new recruits into TAW we've been seeing a great influx of new
members. As always I'm still looking for DI’s to help get new trial members through boot camp and into TAW! If your inter-ested or even just curios about what a DI does please email me at [email protected].
If your interested in recruiting yourself and getting some extra credits from Vaalyn, there are TAW approved recruitment messages in both the Coruscant and Dromund Kaas Team speak channels for your respective side you can copy and paste
into general chat!
In the month of June we lost 21 people for various reasons but we gained 40 new members. This gives us a 12% turnover to 27% gain which gives us an average of 24 new members for the month of June.

SPECIAL OPS EVENTS
Field Specialist Information
With this month, we have had great success, and a tremendous amount fun! With events like the Ziost world boss, and the
GSF event, you cannot go without having fun, excitement, laughing with friends, and enjoying your time in our community.
The pinnacle event for this month was defiantly the TAW Civil War on CZ. This open world, friendly PvP rivalry was a stellar
event, and everyone enjoyed it! There was over 35 people who participated in this guild event, and hopefully next time, more
will come! As the FS I am excited for the future of TAW, and I hope to see more people having fun!

ON THE TERMINALS A Member Spotlight
Each month a member is chosen to be the spotlight
of the month. This month we talk with NavyChief. He
is currently the Star Wars Division highest ranking
member.
What is your history in taw?
In August 2011 I started out as a recruit in the new Battle-
field 3 unit (BF) as it was developing in Vanguard. The
unit only consisted of myself, TexasHillbilly, GundamMKII,
Feanor and Bravehardt. Volunteered as a DI to handle the
rapid influx of members and later transitioned to the TS
position. Spent a few months in the OS unit helping or-
ganize the YouTube channel and transitioned back to the
BF unit. Performed duties as the SO for a couple of
months and assumed the CO position of the NA Battalion
in June 2013. Spent the next 9 months leading the unit as
it transitioned from BF3 to BF4 and grow into a strong unit
within TAW. In February 2014 I was asked to fill the Van-
guard Lt Commander (VLC) position and enjoyed helping
new units form in TAW. Had to step down as VLC in July
2014 due to real life commitments and transferred back to
my familiar unit in BF. In January 2015 I transferred to the
SW unit as I wanted to try other genres of games.
Where did your name come from?
I am a retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer. Served 20 years
on active duty (1984 – 2004) and spent most of my time
throughout the Pacific Fleets. When it came time to pick a
gaming handle I wanted something that represented me and
I could identify with. NavyChief was the logical choice.
Why did you join TAW?
Saw a TAW banner at QuakeCon 2011 and went online to
see what type of community it was. Loved the large variety of
gaming units and the structure it provided. Previous groups
offered minimal gaming diversity and extreme use of profani-
ty. TAW was more family-friendly and concentrated more on
gaming, without the imposition of bias / prejudice.
Who most influenced you while you have
been in TAW?
The first person you come into contact with tends to provide
the largest influence on a new member. I spent weeks talk-
ing one-on-one with Bravehardt (AC at that time) and
GundamMKII (my DI). Their obvious concern for answering
my questions and guiding me in those vital first weeks was
extremely influential in my TAW experience. When asked to
fill important positions in TAW, they eased my concerns and
helped guide me into the roles. Bravehardt is one of the
most easy-going, yet influential TAW members that I have
ever come across. He genuinely wants to help members to
ensure everyone is having a good time without any undue
negative influences or stress.
Are there any other games you play?
Still enjoy the Battlefield series (BF3, BF4, BFH), dabble a
little with Starcraft II and Diablo III, and the occasional TF2.
Looking forward to Star Wars Battlefront and DOOM.
Do you have any hobbies outside of TAW?
Computer building and modding! Won 1st place at the
QuakeCon case mod contest in 2012 and 2014, and was a
judge for the 2013 contest. Currently building a new comput-
er for the QuakCon 2015 case mod contest. All my comput-
ers are water-cooled to keep them cool in the hot Texas en-
vironment.

ON THE TERMINALS CONTINUES
Do you have any advice for a member wanting to join TAW?
Don’t be afraid to step up and volunteer if you have the time and capability. There are plenty of experienced members to
guide and train you if you have the desire to really make a difference. If you get burned out in one game, try one of the other
gaming units that TAW offers to keep your interest. Above all, get to know other members and seek advice if needed.
Do you have any advice for a member who is interested in obtaining the rank of General ?
Leadership positions in TAW are plentiful and in desperate need of dedicated individuals to fill them. I know you may have
heard it many times but it is all about servant leadership. Don’t take a position for the prestige or rank, fill it if you really think
you can help the unit grow and develop. Don’t be afraid to step up and fill a position you think is impossible. You would be
surprised how easy it is with the right support and guidance. Develop a good support staff and the unit will flourish. Over
time, others will seek you out for advice and guidance. Leaders are there for their members and will help them in any way
possible. Maintain an open-door policy and listen with an open-mind. Leave biases and prejudice outside TAW. Members in
higher positions didn’t get there by just sitting back and waiting for things to happen, they actively sought out and answered
any calls for help that presented themselves. Also, a true leader knows when to step down if real life commitments are hin-
dering their capability to handle a position. Remember, TAW is one of the largest gaming communities in the world and did-
n’t get that way overnight. Dedicated members continually strive to keep TAW at the forefront by providing a family-friendly
environment for gamers of all genres and regions of the world. If you have the desire and dedication, anything (and any
rank) is possible.
We want to thank you NavyChief for taking the time and answering our questions. I am sure our readers have
found this enlightening. We all cant wait to see what this years case will look like and we wish you the best of
luck in winning. Please keep us informed on this years results and links to your amazing mods.
Come back next month as we spot light another member as On The Terminals continue.

One Free Level 60
Hey folks,
I have seen a few questions around how the “Start at Level 60” will work that comes with Fallen Empire. I want to start by
saying that we will be releasing a blog when we get a bit closer to launch that describes all of the nitty gritty details and walks
you through everything. But for now I wanted to cover a bit about how it works and address some of the things I have been
seeing. As a subscriber, when you get Fallen Empire you will receive one free level 60 character. This character must be a
new character, you cannot “boost” an existing character up to 60. Beyond that first one which is included free with
KOTFE, you can purchase additional level 60 characters through the Cartel Market at any time. I know that this raised
the question of character limits as well. In talking with the development team, the plan is to increase the subscriber maximum
character limit per server by 2 for the Fallen Empire launch. Not confirmation it will happen, but it is definitely their goal! I
know you still have many questions, such as how this impacts Class story, etc. We will be revealing all of these details down
the line as we get closer to launch.

Story and Companions
Hey folks!
Seeing all of the discussion around our Knights of the Fallen Empire announcement has been awesome! It means a lot to
the writing team to see how much y’all care about the details of the story and characters of SWTOR, and all of the insightful
questions and debates that flow from that. I’m here to hopefully shed a bit of light on a few of the most common questions
I’ve seen.
11
STATE OF THE GAME CONTINUES
Knight of the Fallen Empire Cont.
Story and Companions cont
Up front, I think the best answer I can give to any story question is that it’s always best to wait and see how the story itself will
answer it. I personally just hate giving out spoilers, so I won’t be doing that here. I promise, the main storyline of KOTFE is all
about the things y’all have been asking, and October is going to be here very soon. In the meantime, though, let’s see if we can’t
at least clarify a couple of things now:
The Outlander: your character’s past will be a key part of their identity as the Outlander moving forward. The choices you’ve
made, romances you’ve pursued, your class, etc are all a part of who your character is, and those decisions will be honored in
KOTFE; often in unexpected ways. How that works for characters who are created at level 60 is something we ’ll dive into in the
future, but we will not be setting a “canon” version of any class or world storyline. Your choices matter – that’s at the heart of our
storytelling philosophy at Bioware.
Companions: there’s a ton of stuff going on with companions in this release, and we’re not ready to dive into most of it just
yet. What I can say is that past companions will return in the story, sometimes as very critical parts of the overall story shared by
all Outlanders. Which classes can recruit which characters, who can be romanced, who can you kill and who might betray you?
You’ll have to play and see Finally, I’ve seen a lot of people referencing the KOTFE page’s character list as a list of companions –
not everyone on that list will become a companion, and not every companion in the story is included in that list.
Valkorion: who is this guy? What happened to that other Emperor? Aren’t they both actually Jadus, who’s secretly Kephess,
who’s actually a mutated clone of Kai Zykken created by Fez Burba for the Star Cabal’s secret war against the Shroud? OK, so I
actually haven’t seen that theory, but IT’S ALL TRUE TELL EVERYONE BEFORE IT’S TOO LA—-

The possibility of a server move

...must not have been transferred within the last 72 hours.
...must be level 10 or higher.

...should not have any items listed in the Galactic Trade Network. Active Galactic Trade Network listings will not be trans-
ferred.

...will have its Legacy level set to the highest Legacy level between the original and the destination server.
...should not have any stamps in Outfit Designer. All outfits will be reset.
...90cc for each toon to transfer.
If I have unlocked a Stronghold will it transfer automatically?
No, your Stronghold(s) must be reactivated once you are on the selected destination server. If you originally purchased your
Stronghold with Cartel Coins there is no cost to reactivate it. However if you purchased your Stronghold with Credits, you wi ll need
to pay full price again to reactivate. Decorations that you have already unlocked will be available once you have successfully reac-
tivated your Stronghold.
What happens if my character name is already taken on my desired destination server?
If your character name is already taken on the destination server, your character will be transferred and assigned a temporary
name. You will be prompted to choose a new name for the character when you log into the new server.
13
SERVER MOVE?
The possibility of a server move continues...
Do my transferred characters count towards Legacy Unlocks?
Yes, all Legacy Unlocks that your characters have earned will be automatically applied to your new Legacy on your
selected destination server. These include Species, Class, Companion and Legacy Level based unlocks.
Will anything on my character not be transferred to my destination server?
There are several settings that will not be transferred, as follows:
Your in-game mail will not be transferred. This includes unread mail and read mail. Please ensure any mail is read, and any
items or credits within your mailbox are added to your inventory before your transfer is confirmed. Any items not removed from
your mailbox will not be available on your origin server after transfer is complete.
Your Friends list (by default, press ‘O’ to access) will not be transferred. Friends lists are server-specific. As your listed friends
may choose to be transferred to the same destination server, you may wish to take note of your Friends before transfer and add
them to your Friends list again after transfer.
Your Ignore list (by default, press ‘O’ to access and click the Ignore tab) will not be transferred. Ignore lists are server-
specific. You may wish to take note of those on your Ignore list before transfer and add them to your Ignore list again after trans-
fer.
Your Galactic Trade Network listings will not be transferred. Please ensure your characters have no items listed on the Galac-
tic Trade Network before your transfer is confirmed. Any items still listed on the Galactic Trade Network will not be listed on your
origin server after transfer is complete.
Are there any other restrictions with the Character Transfer Service?
If you choose to move your character with the Character Transfer Service, please be aware of the following
If your character name is already taken on the destination server, your character will be transferred and assigned a tempo-
rary name. You will be prompted to choose a new name for the character when you log into the new server.
You cannot exceed your maximum character slot limit (including the transferred and non-transferred characters) on any
given destination server. If no character slots are available, a character will not be transferred. You can choose to purchase an
additional character slot unlock (up to 10 additional slots over the default) or delete an existing character to free a character
slot, and then repeat the character transfer process.
If you have played a character on an eligible origin server to the point where you have unlocked your Legacy and chosen
your Legacy name, then all characters created on or transferred to your selected destination server will use that Legacy name.

SERVER MOVE?
The possibility of a server move continues...
If you have not played a character on an eligible destination server to the
point where your Legacy is unlocked, but are transferring characters who have
unlocked their Legacy, you will be prompted to choose your Legacy name when
you first log in to your selected destination server after your characters have been
transferred. The name you choose will then be applied to all characters on your
selected destination server.
The character will no longer be a part of its guild - guilds and guild member-
ship will not be transferred to your new server. You will need to create or join a
new guild on your new server. If your guild name is already taken on the destina-
tion server, you will need to choose a different name for your guild. See our sepa-
rate questions on guilds.
Whichever Legacy is of a higher level will take precedence and become your
new Legacy. This has no effect on unlocks, the unlocks from both Legacies will
combine. For example: You are transferring a character from the Bastion to the
Harbinger. The character you are transferring from the Bastion is in a level 27
Legacy. Currently on Harbinger you have a level 13 Legacy. After the transfer you
will now have a level 27 Legacy on Harbinger which combines the unlocks from
both servers. All of your Legacy unlocks, Achievements earned, and triggered
Collections will be waiting for you.
Items in Legacy Stronghold Storage will not be transferred. Legacy Strong-
hold Storage bays themselves only get transferred with your Legacy if they were
purchased with Cartel Coins, Legacy Stronghold Storage Bays bought with Cred-
its do not transfer. Transferring a character with additional unlocked bays will not
increase the maximum amount of bays on the destination server over the maxi-
mum allowed 5 Legacy Stronghold Storage bays.
Strongholds purchased with credits will not transfer. These will need to be
reactivated on the destination server. Strongholds purchased with Cartel Coins will
be available on the destination server. Your unlocked decorations will transfer
over, however they will not be placed in the stronghold. Rooms that you have un-
locked will be available to re-activate on the destination server.
