Please sign up at the Senior Info Center Itinerary
10:30 am — Depart Stoney Creek Church 11:30 am — Arrive at Raleigh Farmer’s Market for Lunch
(You can eat at the “NC Seafood Restaurant” or enjoy great southern cooking at the “Farmer’s Market Restaurant.” Both are near each other.)
12:30 pm — Travel to State Fairgrounds for the free admission “Got to Be NC Festival” (We will stay at the festival a couple of hours or leave earlier if everyone is ready to go.)
The “Got to be NC Festival” is an exciting festival highlighting all the great things from North Carolina. You can enjoy live music, food, animal and agricultural displays, antique tractors, and much, much more. Free events include—but are not limited to—the concerts on the outdoor stage, antique tractor and farm equipment parade, commercial exhibits in the Graham Building, racing pigs, baby pigs being born at the pig birthing center, free grandstand shows (such as bull-dozer demonstrations and aerial drone demonstrations), a craft fair, a giant sand sculpture being created before your eyes, antique farm equipment, K9 Unit demonstrations, antique tractor pulls, rabbit agility shows and more. For a small fee, you can even take a ride on the “State Fair Fly-er” (i.e. a chairlift built over the fairgrounds). Most of the festival is free with a few exceptions such as $3 admission charge to the Home Grown Fare Expo (i.e. the Food Expo) where North Carolina food companies will be sharing samples and selling some of the most delightful flavors North Carolina has to offer. You can easily enjoy an hour or two of family-style fun without ever spending a dime! If you are a “looker” instead of an “explorer,” you can find a bench and sit back and watch everyone walking by. Invite your friends and family—even if not Primetimers.
Senior Adult Bible Study—Tuesday
You are invited this Tuesday (5/8) as we study the Word of God, pray and fellowship together. The Bible teaches that God’s Word is “...a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Come let the Word of God brighten and guide your day.
