MISSION

The mission of the University of Baltimore Foundation is to provide support, leadership and guidance to the University’s administration in advancing the mission and vision of the University. The foundation raises and manages funds and provides financial support to the University of Baltimore.

Goal 1The foundation will provide a consistent and growing revenue stream for the strategic expansion of the University of Baltimore and its programs.

Objectives:

1.1 Meet or exceed the fundraising targets of the campaign for the Langsdale Library.

1.2 Grow the number of UB endow-ments (permanently restricted funds) available to UB and to the colleges.

1.3 Increase the alumni participation level to 10 percent by June 30, 2017.

1.4 Increase annual revenue for the University’s unrestricted fund.

1.5 Increase the amount of funds available for the Fund for Excellence program each year to reach $350,000 by 2017.

1.6 Assist the UB president, the deans and the Office of Institutional Advancement staff in identifying, engaging and converting potential new donors and funding opportunities.

1.7 Meet or exceed established goals for board members’ financial contributions.

Goal 2The foundation will coordinate with the UB administration to promote the University of Baltimore to city, state and regional leaders as well as to the community at large in support of the University’s strategic goals.

Objectives:

2.1 Increase the number of foundation activities—including individual interactions, full board initiatives and committee engagement—that expand the reach and image of UB.

2.2 In coordination with the UB president, enhance the foundation’s role in advocating for the University’s interests among elected officials.

2.3 Strengthen board member awareness of and participation in UB campus life, including student life, faculty presentations and major events of significance to the community.

2.4 Work with the UB Alumni Association and college advisory boards to strengthen the foundation’s outreach to alumni.

2.5 Enhance board member awareness of and relationships with the University System of Maryland Board of Regents, the University System of Maryland and the Maryland Higher Education Commission.

2.6 Reinforce the University’s ongoing efforts in branding, marketing, student and faculty recruitment, and community outreach.

Goal 3Through active committee work and individual consultation, foundation members will lend expertise, guidance and support to the University president and to staff in advancing student success and driving enrollment.

Objectives:

3.1 Identify and align the expertise of existing and potential board mem-bers with the needs of the University president and senior leadership.

3.2 Strengthen communication between board members and University leadership regarding student success and enrollment.

3.3 Enhance the working relationship among foundation committees, UB senior leadership and UB enrollment management staff in the areas of student success and enrollment.

3.4 Develop and maintain an active list of board resources that includes the professional and personal contacts of foundation members and can be utilized in support of University initiatives.
