Bexley straight and curved benches can besupplied for installation above or below finishedground level. The benches can be manufacturedand supplied for fixing onto a wall. Mild or stainlesssteel brackets are supplied to fix the bench top tothe wall.

All Street Design products are designed and manufactured using only quality,durable materials, construction details and fixings, to provide a long-lasting,durable product with a good life expectancy.

Unless otherwise stated all Bexley seating products will be supplied fullyassembled and delivered complete, ready for installation.

All iroko hardwood products are manufactured using materials obtained fromgrowers who operate under the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

As standard, the FSC timber slats will be left natural to reduce the need for re-staining and help reduce maintenance costs. As an optional extra, the timber slatscan be supplied with a stained finish using 3 coats of quick drying, water basedwood stain. The standard colour will be teak. Other colours and stain types areavailable upon request.As standard, the mild steel components will be left with a galvanised finish. As anoptional extra, after hot dip galvanising, the mild steel components can bepolyester powder coated, to the colour of your choice. The galvanised parts areprepped, treated and sprayed with the polyester powder, before being baked in anoven.Stainless steel components will have a dull polished (brushed) finish. If required,the stainless steel components can be supplied with a mirror polished finish.

Hardwood products are constructed using FSC iroko hardwood, from sustainablesources. Softwood products are constructed using FSC European redwood thathas been Wolmanit CX treated, for a desired service life of 30 years minimum.All mild steel fabricated components will be hot dip galvanised after fabrication toBS EN ISO 1461:2009.All stainless steel fabricated components will be grade 304. Grade 316 can bespecified if the location or project requires it.All mild steel fixings will be bright zinc plated, and all stainless steel fixings will beA2 (grade 304). A4 (grade 316) can be specified if the location or project requiresit.

Guarantee

All seats and benches are guaranteed for 15years minimum. This guarantee is a minimumand is dependant on the product not beingmisused or abused. All the materials, treatmentsand construction will allow for a life expectancyconsiderably longer than this.

BEXLEY seating

Bexley seating can be manufactured andsupplied to include a number of seatingaccessories to ensure that the product is right foryour scheme. The seat has an integral armrest aspart of the seat leg design. The Bexley bench isavailable with or without armrests. Mild steel legsand armrests will be hot dip galvanised asstandard, with an optional powder coated finish.The grade 304 stainless steel legs and armrests,will be supplied with a dull polished finish.Optional grade 316 stainless steel legs andarmrests can be manufactured and supplied.

We are able to supply the benches and seatswith stainless steel anti-skateboard fittings. Thefittings are screwed to the outer 70x45mmsection FSC timber rails.

Coloured LED lighting can be supplied with yourBexley seating.In its basic form, the lighting is available as coolwhite, warm white, blue, green or red LED units.More complex lighting can be supplied, includingtwilight switches, PIR sensors, timers, infrared,ultraviolet and royal blue emitters, PWMdimmers, RGB, UPS, DMX and remote controlunits.Our LED lighting units can handle all of the tasksformerly undertaken by tungsten, halide andfluorescent lamps, and out-perform them in everydepartment. They are extremely flexible - we cansupply almost any configuration of lighting to aclient's specification using our standard lightingunit.The lighting units can be powered by either a lowvoltage DC supply or mains electricity. The choiceof light levels and power units is also broad. Ourstandard power supply pumps out 12 Volts at 4Amps, in LED terms enough for a very brightbench or seat. The entire range is from 1 Watt to1,000 Watts.

Standard mild steel finish

As standard, all Bexley FSC treated redwoodseating slats, will be supplied with a natural finish.The timber is treated for a minimum lifeexpectancy of 30 years. Left to weather naturally,the timber will eventually turn a silver grey colour.

Optional FSC treated redwood finish

As an optional extra, the FSC treated redwoodcan be supplied with a stained finish. Thestandard stain will be 3 coats of Ronseal quickdrying water based stain. The standard colour willbe teak. Other stains and colours can be appliedupon request.

BEXLEY seating

As standard, all mild steel box section metalseating slats, will be hot dip galvanised aftercutting, drilling and capping.

Optional mild steel finish

After galvanising and as an optional extra, the allmetal seating slats can be polyester powdercoated. Depending on the stock availability, thepolyester powder coating can be to any specifiedRAL colour and can have either a matt, satin orgloss finish.

CARE & MAINTENANCE




Natural finish treated redwood can be washed down with a mild detergent.More stubborn surface marks can be removed with a light, hand sand with a120 grit, or higher grade sandpaper. Excessive sanding should be avoided.

Maintaining the optional FSC treated redwood finish

Stained, treated redwood will need to be re-coated after a period of time.The stain can either start to fade, become dull (oxidised) or incur somesurface break up. Lightly sand down the timber using a 120 grit, or highergrade sandpaper. We recommend that the timber is re-stained with theoriginal stain colour and manufacturer. Details can be obtained from Streetdesign Limited. Apply the stain evenly, with brush strokes running parallelwith the woodgrain, in thin layers, building up the finish as recommended bythe stain manufacturer.

Maintaining the standard stainless steel finish

Dull polished (brushed) stainless steel should be washed down with clean,warm water with a mild detergent. More severe marks can be removed by usinga fine abrasive, such as a Scotchbrite or stainless steel scouring pad. As dullpolishing is a process of applying fine linear scratches evenly over the surface,it is extremely important that rubbing down with a abrasive pad is done carefullyin a straight line parallel to the existing grained finish. Rust marks or stains areusually caused by environmental contamination from dissimilar materials laidagainst, or near to, the stainless steel. These stains can be removed asdescribed above.

Maintaining the optional mild steel finish

Hot dip galvanised mild steel is a very durable and hard wearing finish. Dirt canbe washed off with warm water and a mild detergent. Always use clean waterand cleaning cloths to avoid surface contamination.After cleaning, any severe marks can be over painted with a cold galvanised,(zinc rich) aerosol spray.

Polyester powder coated finishes should be washed down with clean warmwater and a mild detergent. Minor touching up can be done with an aerosol tomatch the original powder coated colour. Details can be obtained from StreetDesign Limited. More severe damage can be repaired by sanding down, bymanual or mechanical means, beyond the damaged area, sufficiently far as toensure that any step in the powder coated finish is removed. This will ensurethat after re-finishing the repair will be difficult to detect.

All Bexley seating products are manufactured using high quality materials, treatments and finishes.The timber slats are manufactured from either FSC treated redwood or FSC iroko hardwood. Thefully welded mild steel legs and armrests will be hot dip galvanised after fabrication. All productsrequire a varied amount of maintenance, depending on the environment, usage and weatherconditions. Natural timber and galvanised steel will only require cleaning. In time, stained timberand polyester powder coated mild steel, will require re-coating.
