COSTURA sofa refers to the noble tradition of tailoring that has guided the design process.

In San Sebastián, home of renown fashion designers like Balenciaga, small ateliers have dressed citizens during decades with impecablely tailored suits and dresses.

STUA wanted to bring this tradition back, working with artisans, to create a piece of upholstery that is like a suit that covers the inovative inside structure.

One more time, STUA delivers a surprising design that reflects the timelessness adding an innovative spirit.

BEAUTIFUL BACKRESTThe back of Costura is gently bent, and carefully upholstered.

The zippers that allow the arms to have removable covers, are hid-den with a thin cover.

The quality of the back allow the sofa to be in any position of the room, also as a room divider.

THIN FRAMEThe frame of the sofa is made of a thin plywood.

This is a strong and elegant solution that saves a lot of space. It is one of the thinnest sofa frames in the market.

BACK WITH PILLOW STYLEEach seat has a two cushions for the back. Both of them have a pillow look.

The large one is made of foam. The smaller is a down pillow, with european 100% natural feather.Place them as you wish for comfort.

THE CHAISE FOR THE SECTIONAL CAN BE PLACED ON THE RIGHT OR LEFTAnd you can change it any time you like.

HIDDEN ZIPPERS WITH DOUBLE SLIDERAll zippers have two sliders for ease of use and extended life and are hidden for added elegance.

REMOVABLE COVERSThe covers on the cushions, frame and arms of Costura pieces are removable.

The seat cover has a velcro strip on its lower part to prevent slipping during normal use. To lift the seat, be sure to carefully separate the strips of velcro to prevent damage. Protect velcro when cleaning seat covers.

Before washing, it is necessary to remove the plastic flat-insert from the flap of zippers in the arms. The plastic band can be removed from the cover via the hole in the lower part of the arm.

THREE DIMENSIONAL FOAMSBoth seat and back cushions have been created with bubble shape. So that the look of the sofa is soft and inviting. FIRE RETARDANTAll the fabrics and foams are fire retardant

INNER COVERSInner white covers are glued to the foam to keep upholstery tight so therefore are not removable even though they may have a zipper.

POSITION OF THE SEATSThe sofa frame is covered in a grey velour to allow easy attaching of velcro.

Position seats as far to the back as possible to prevent their over-hanging the front of the sofa.

COSTURA DESIGN DETAILS

2 positions in the front legs. 2 positions in the back legs.

TWO POSITION LEGSThe legs of the sofa can be positioned in two ways: Full-frontal for a more minimal look or angled for a more classical look. You decide.

You can alway change the orientation of the legs. This gives you freedom.
