THE ONLINE REPORTING SYSTEM (ORS) IS LOCATED ON THE WCAP PORTAL

ORS INTERFACE: WELCOME PAGEThe Welcome Page appears when you first log in to the ORS. Select either the Plan and Manage Testing Section, or the Score Reports Section.

Provides participation data for students taking WCAP tests. Shows which students need to start and to complete testing. Provides count and percentages of students who have tested for the subject and

grade level selected. Student data files for participation can be downloaded.

UNDERSTANDING TEST STATUS CODES

Code Definition Code Definition

Approved The TA has approved the student for the test session – the student has not started testing yet.

Completed The student has clicked on the submit button. No further action is needed by the student.

Started The student has started the test. Submitted The test has been submitted for review and scoring before it is sent to ORS.

Paused The student clicked the Pause button, or did not interact with the test for more than 30 minutes.

TA paused the test. Student’s browser/computer shut

down/crashed.

Reported The student’s score for the completed test in TDS has passed the quality assurance review. It is sent for hand scoring, as needed, before the test score appears in ORS.

Suspended The student is waiting for TA approval to resume testing.

Scored The test will display a scored status – the student’s score will be in ORS.

Denied The TA denied the student entry into the test session.

Rescored The test was rescored.

Pending The student is waiting for TA to approve a new session.

Expired The test is incomplete – cannot be resumed because past expiration date.

Review The student is reviewing completed answers before submitting test.

Invalidated The test was invalidated.

WHAT DO THE COLUMNS IN THE PARTICIPATION REPORT MEAN?

SCORE REPORTS

Displays summary scores for districts, schools, teachers, and student-level

performance data for WCAP tests.

Data can be compared with the overall state and district averages.

Caution! All score report data are based on the total number of students whose tests have been scored.

ORS data should be regarded as preliminary and may differ from the data posted on Report card or used to determine AYP.

• Grade shows the grade tested. • Number of Students Tested shows the number of students to date whose tests have been

completed and submitted for scoring. • Percent Proficient shows the percent of students to date scoring at the proficient level. • To access score reports for either ELA or Math, at a grade level, click on the grade and

subject. Once a cell is selected, you will be directed to the selected Subject Detail Report.

WHAT IS AN INDIVIDUAL STUDENT REPORT (ISR)?

• An ISR shows a student’s proficiency level in an assessments, and describes what the score means in parent-friendly language.

• It also includes o more detailed information and comparison scores for the class,

teacher, school, district, and state. o It also includes student performance on each claim along with a

description of each claim.

• You can batch print individual student reports in a PDF. • The PDF reports can be accessed from My Inbox in the Test Management

Center.

2) EXPORT OPTION- YOU GET AN EXCEL FILE

Highlight the column names, and select Sort & Filter then choose the picture that looks like a filter.

WORKING WITH ROSTERS

What is a roster? Rosters can be used to:

Link the teacher (by email address) and the student (by SSID), using a roster name.

Enable groups of students to be associated with a teacher at a particular school.

Represent entire classrooms in lower grades, or individual classroom periods in upper grades.

Represent special courses or groups of students.

Rosters are available at all times, except when TIDE is down for scheduled maintenance.

WORKING WITH ROSTERS – (CONT.)Schools May Roster Students in TIDE or ORS

You can only roster students one at a time in ORS.

TIDE has roster upload function – WE WILL DEMONSTRATE!;

Rostering can occur either before or after test administration.

Rostering must be done for TAs to get test scores from ORS.

Rostering requires that staff be in TIDE.

Choose your school&Click the search button.

Select “Export” and then “Export all to Excel.”

Drop some columns that aren’t needed to identify your students and rearrange SSID to the far right

Now, there is no need to type in SSIDs and you have all identifying student information.

STEP 4Assign Students To A Teacher’s Email

Example: 4 students were in Darth Vader’s class, so put his email address in line for all of them.

Next, name the roster under Darth Vader where the students belong. In this example, he has a split 4-5 grade level class. (You can decide the names for your rosters.) In this case the rosters are called DV Homeroom 4 and DV Homeroom 5.
