Brief history: He was the leader of a group who participated in wild parties, but after he got very ill he had a vision that Jesus said that he must fulfil his life mission. Once he got better, he told his family he wanted to dedicate his life to God, Everyone teased and laughed at him so he lived in a cave where he spent his time doing prayers and meditation for 2 years.. Francis went form village to village and preached the love of God. People noticed his saintliness and began to follow him everywhere. Soon enough, the word of Francis spread all across Europe and he earned the name of Saint Francis. He then founded the Order of the Franciscans. Members have to vow to poverty, chastity, love and obedience . His followers built a beautiful church on the hill of Assisi in memory
