This presentation will include how to use livebinders (on-line notebooks)for your own use, as well as how Jefferson County School counselors are applying the ASCA and TN Model for the School Counseling Framework as evidence of comprehensive counseling services during the evaluation process. After One Year, What Have We Learned?
• “How to document the progress of students through my programming. This has been a tool to help me be better than before.”
• Personal relationships with students – “a positive focus in evidence which I had taken for granted.”
• “I am more thorough than I realized with programming.” (EZ Analyze)
• “This has caused me to get organized. I knew where this all was – in my head - and used this to pull it all together”
More comments…
• “I see this weighs heavy on teachers, administrators and students. I remind them, This is what we do – help students. We should use what we can to make us better, then let the rest go.”
• “I have seen the value of myself – I’m a counselor. I feel like I have had 62 evaluations – teachers talking to me”
And………
• “Bottom line – we do matter! What we do is amazing. This is why we are so busy. We are the go to guys in the building. “When I am so busy I am about to lose my mind and kids are waiting to see me, I know I am doing what I am suppose to be doing.”
• “At JCS we get to be counselors” ……….
