RECOGNITION

An increased number of students in the elementary schools are demonstrating strong individual growth on STAR for the 2015-2016 school year

Kindergarten: Reading – 87%

First through fourth grade students within the top 3 quartiles:

First Grade: Math – 82.3% Reading – 70.8%

Second Grade: Math – 89.6% Reading – 84.9%

Third Grade: Math – 93.7% Reading – 88%

Fourth Grade: Math – 93.7% Reading – 89.8%

Increased opportunities for technology in the classroom through tech integration

Implementation of research based interventions increased throughout all schools

Progress monitoring of student growth continues to be a valid tool to support student learning

English Language Arts Focus

Continued focus on differentiation within the classroom

Reading across the curriculum with a focus on fluency and

comprehension of non-fiction text

Analyze, comprehend and compare complex texts

Continued use of data to drive instruction

Continued implementation of New Illinois State Standards

Continued use of before school tutoring based on student data

Continued use of Think Central to reinforce and enhance skills
