NEW SERMON SERIES BEGINS NEXT WEEK...

There are more animals in the Bible than those we associate with Noah's Ark.  What can we

learn from them or their associated stories?

During February, we will not need a talking Disney animal to find out....however it never hurts to have a few cuddly critters

to pet - so bring your friends and come enjoy the

petting zoo on February 6th that will kick off the series!

Adult MinistriesHait i Mission Opportunit ies: April 15th-23rd

A trip to Northwest Haiti Christian Mission is planned for April 15-23.  Though this trip is centered around a medical surgical team, no medical experience is needed, just your presence to assist the

surgeons and a willingness to help wherever necessary.

There are plenty of babies to be held, prayers to be given,

encouragement and hands to hold for those preparing for surgery and

plenty of opportunities to be the presence of Christ in a land that is in

need of hope.  As the date is fast approaching, plans need to be

made.  For additional information, please contact Wayne Worthington.

Cityfest Arizona is coming to Tempe Town Lake March 19-20.

This will be a family-friendly festival to celebrate all that has been accomplished with Season of Service throughout our communities in Arizona.  It will feature live concerts, a Family Zone and an action sports demonstration.  As it is anticipated the event will draw over 100,000 persons, CityFest is asking for volunteers to help in a variety of areas, from general volunteers to assisting with parking, tear-down, ushers, clean-up, greeters and security.  If you have any interest in getting involved or to find out about other needs, please contact Sara Perrine ([email protected]).

Faithbuilders Dinner GroupsWishing you had a chance to get better acquainted with other

adults at Chaparral?  Consider signing up with the Faithbuilders Class during January.  Several times during the year small dinner groups are formed.  The new groups will meet in various host homes two or three times in the coming months for a shared meal.  Singles and couples are most welcome to join in the fun.  You can receive more information by attending the class on Sundays, 9:45 in the East Hall.  Newcomers are welcome!

• We would like to get to know you! Each pew has a Welcome Book in which you can let us know prayer requests, sign up for events and update your information. Please pass the Welcome Book down the row so we can hear from everyone!

• Communion/Lord’s Supper All followers of Christ are welcome to participate in our Service of Communion. If you have prepared yourself for this very special moment with our Savior, you are invited to his table. (1 Corinthians 11:23-30) Please take the emblems as they are passed and partake when you are ready. Some prefer to take it while it is in front of them before passing it along.

• Offering In our first two services, a special time for giving is set aside. Participation is an act of worship and voluntary. During our third service there will not be a time specific for offering but rather boxes are placed at the entry to allow for giving as you are led.

• Nursery We have a friendly, well-staffed and impeccably clean nursery located on the north side of the narthex. Please see an usher for directions.

We hope your worship experience with us will be meaningful. To help you feel a bit more comfortable with our campus and morning programs, we have included a few recommendations. We are glad you are here today!
