Habitat for Humanity - Mission Feature for January Last year at this time we were telling you that there was approval for the next habitat home to be built in Delphos. We are “starting to put things into gear” and “We are beginning the process for selecting a family” was the news from Habitat Lima. The family for the 2021 Habitat Delphos build has been selected but the house has not been completed. They have begun the construction and you can see the foundation if you drive down Washington Street. This is a start and Executive Director Bruce Hilty of Habitat Lima says the plan is to “keep moving forward” and “get started on further construction early this spring”.

The mission committee hopes that you will consider supporting our January Mission feature by helping with your hands and/or donating funds to help support building the habitat house. All donations will be kept local and put into the Delphos build.

Sunday, January 17, 2021 Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Our 2021Theme is: “Restore my soul, O Lord”

Emotionally Healthy Spirituality—Week 3 “Going Back in Order to Go Forward.” - Peter Scazzero

SCRIPTURE: Genesis 47:1-12; 50:15-26 How have your past experiences and family of origin made you into who you are today? What is worth keeping and what needs to be purged? Biblical Concepts: 1) The blessings and sins of our families going back three or four generations pro-

foundly impact who we are today. (Exodus 34:6-7, Exodus 20:4-6) 2) Discipleship requires putting off the sinful patterns of our family of origin and learn-ing how to do life God’s way in Jesus’ new family. (Mark 3:33-35) “Those who can’t learn from their past are doomed to repeat it.” -George Santaya “Jesus may be in your heart, but Grandpa is in your bones.” - Peter Scazzero 3) True spirituality frees us to live joyfully in the present. Living joyfully, however, requires us to go back in order to go forward.
