MARCH 31, 2013 BULLETIN RAY’S REMARKS: What a beautiful Lord’s day we had to- gether this past Sunday. Outside the snow was falling and blanket- ing the earth with its glory and inside we had a great number present to worship God in spirit and truth. What a truly magnificent day it was. I was actually surprised at the many who were able to make it last Sunday. A lot of times bad weather scares folks and keeps them from getting out, but that was not the case Sunday morning. And despite the cold weather and wind it was a wonderful day all the way around. Anyway, how blessed we all are in this life in both physical and spiritual things. I hope we all realize just how great we have it. Well, the students had their final exam this week at the BIM. I know there is a lot of stress and worry during this time of their schooling, however they are all doing well. I remember well such times in my own education. What a relief it was to have all my finals and all end of the quarter assignments done. Then you could start dreading the next quarter ! Please keep in mind that this coming Sunday is a 5 Th SUNDAY. We always have the opportunity on 5 th Sundays to lay a little extra back to help with special needs. Remember that this month we are needing to make up for budget shortfalls. Until last Sunday, we were about $1800 down for the year, but after last Sunday and the snow we are about $2500 down! Also any moneys above that will go toward some needed improvements in our fellowship hall kitchen. I hope we will all do our part and give God our very best. Finally, let me encourage us all to get a prayer list and to check the bulletin for those of our number with special prayer request. We always have a lot of prayer needs as the family of God so let’s all do our part to make sure that these petitions stay before the throne of God. “Pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks!” Well, I hope to see most of you at our midweek service tonight. I also hope you all have a great remainder of the week and weekend. What a blessing it will be to assemble again as God’s people this coming Lord’s day. Until then, may God bless us all as we strive to put Him first and do His Perfect Will. *Ray Sullins* SPECIAL SERVANTS ELDERS: DEACONS: GARY DALTON MARK MCCARTY - 844-4637 833-4219 DAVID FIELDER - 889-6450 DWAYNE GREEN - 732-1493 JERRY SULLINS SETH HASS - 345-1667 833-9903 LEROY HATHCOCK - 869-8434 EVANGELISTS: RAY SULLINS 883-8795 CHURCH OFFICE: 869-2284 CHUCK NORTHROP FAX/INFO LINE: 773-4903 862-9620 EMAIL ADDRESS: [email protected] WEB PAGES: KECHURCHOFCHRIST.COM THELIVINGWORDPROGRAM.COM BIBLEINSTITUTEOFMISSOURI.COM ZAMBIASCHOOLOFBIBLICALSTUDIES.COM KANSAS EXPRESSWAY CHURCH OF CHRIST 2540 N. ELDERS CORNER:Greetings from the elders at K.E.~ This weather is crazy, but it is the waythe Lord has planned, so we don’t need tocomplain because He knows best. This holiday weekend is generallyplanned for family gatherings so we will nothave our scheduled 5th Sunday potluck. Hopeeveryone enjoys the day. We had a great lesson on Sunday aboutmechanical music in the worship service. Raydid a sermon explaining why we do not usemechanical music in our services. We want all the men, if possible toattend the men's fellowship and breakfast onthe second Saturday at 8 A.M. Please setaside one hour a month for this work whichthe elders approve. Brother Bill & Wesley areoutstanding cooks. Please plan to help this week with the5th Sunday contribution to offset first ofthe year shortages and to do some improve-ments in the fellowship hall. We look forward to seeing all on Sundayat 9:30.
