WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR PARKING LOT WORSHIP SERVICES

• Paper programs will be available, please take these home and dispose of them there.

• A designated spot for offering will be made available.

SVERDRUP LUTHERAN CHURCH REOPENING TASK FORCE:RETURNING TO IN-CHURCH WORSHIP SUMMER 2020

Governor Walz is allowing churches in Minnesota to open if they can meet the guidelines for safe worship.

The 12 pages of guidelines focuses on safely gathering in groups larger than 10. Meeting these guidelines will take

work; Bishop Bill Tesch has asked each congregation to create a task force that can establish guidelines specific to each

congregation. Colt Edin, Aaron Lindstrom and Gary Link have each offered to be a part of this group. Their task will be

to use the State guidelines as a baseline for what we need to do at Sverdrup. The four key areas will be (The last one

might be the most important, communication to you what is expected.):

1. staff 2. the building 3. the procedures of worship 4. communication

The 25% capacity and physical distance rule can serve as an example of their task. They will need to know

the capacity of the sanctuary and plan how to best physically distance everyone. Once they have established those

numbers and design, the State requires a written plan that is easy to understand. This plan will be sent to everyone to

communicate safe practices. This will take time to put in place. Presently we will continue to worship online from home

and may plan parking lot worship services if we can get a system to broadcast the service. I hope this helps you

understand that the process is more than just opening the doors, we want everyone to be safe.

Updates for 7/19

As a church, we try to walk the line between the need to use cautionand the need to continue with our day to day lives in ministry. Recentmandates are dictating our activities and we know that these mandates arethings that we can do to benefit our community of faith and our communityas a whole.

Worship Services for Sverdrup Lutheran Church are now moving to“parking lot” services. We will continue to share this as a “virtual” sermonthat is emailed and posted on our website and FB page until further noticeduring this transition. The video of the service won’t be available untillater Sunday as it takes 3-4 hours to upload the video on to Youtube. Weappreciate your patience and the disruption this may cause to yourworship times with us. We will have a parking lot service with Pastor Zintaon Sunday July 19th and a parking lot service with Pastor Tammy July 26th.

In peace and love - Tereasa

“For the Fruit of All Creation”

1) For the fruit of all creation, thanks be to God.

For these gifts to ev'ry nation, thanks be to God.

For the plowing, sowing, reaping, silent growth while we are sleeping, future needs in earth's safe-keeping,

thanks be to God.

2) In the just reward of labor,God's will is done.

In the help we give our neighbor,God's will is done.

In our world-wide task of caringfor the hungry and despairing,in the harvests we are sharing,

God's will is done.

3) For the harvests of the Spirit,

thanks be to God.

For the good we all inherit,

thanks be to God.

For the wonders that astound us,

for the truths that still confound us,

most of all, that love has found us,

thanks be to God.

“Dance With Me” (Holy Time)

This is holy time

We're gathered together to worship you

and love one another

and as we pray

and as we sing

and as we dance

and as we dream

Lord, I ask of you just this one thing...

Won't you dance with me?

Throughout the heavens and below the seas

Up on the mountaintops

Flow with the breeze

Come, carry me

Lord, won't you dance with me?

“Go Make Disciples”

Go, make disciples.

Baptizing them, teaching them.

Go, make disciples,

for I am with you till the end of time.

Go, be the salt of the earth.

Go, be the light for the world.

Go, be a city on a hill,

so all can see that you’re serving me.

Go, make disciples.

“Children of the Heavenly Father”

1) Children of the heav’nly Father

Safely in His bosom gather

Nestling bird nor star in Heaven

Such a refuge e’er was given

2) God, His own doth tend and nourish

In His holy courts they flourish

From all evil things He spares them

In His mighty arms He bears them

3) Neither life nor death shall ever

From the Lord, His children sever

Unto them His grace He showeth

And their sorrows all He knoweth

4) Though He giveth or He taketh

God His children ne’er forsaketh

His, the loving purpose solely

To preserve them, pure and holy

“All Are Welcome”

1) Let us build a house where love can dwell and all can safely live,

a place where saints and children tell how hearts learn to forgive.

Built of hopes and dreams and visions, rock of faith and vault of grace;

here the love of Christ shall end divisions:

[Refrain]

All are welcome, all are welcome, all are welcome in this place.

2) Let us build a house where love is found in water, wine and wheat:

a banquet hall on holy ground where peace and justice meet.

Here the love of God, through Jesus, is revealed in time and space;

as we share in Christ the feast that frees us:

[Refrain]

All are welcome, all are welcome, all are welcome in this place.

ELW #641 Vs 1,3,4Author and Music: Marty Haugen, b. 1950

3) Let us build a house where hands will reach beyond the wood and stone

to heal and strengthen, serve and teach, and live the Word they’ve known.

Here the outcast and the stranger bear the image of God’s face;

let us bring an end to fear and danger:

[Refrain]

All are welcome, all are welcome, all are welcome in this place.

UPDATE ON HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

From Paul Shol – Community Outreach Coordinator, Habitat for Humanity

Battle Lake Home Construction Moving AlongWith strong volunteer hours from Henry Peterson, Mark Nelson, and Dick Oftedahl from the Battle Lake

First Lutheran Church we are making consistent headway on the remodel in Battle Lake. Contractor Jeff Harms keeps doing a great job leading the way. Thanks to these guys and their dedication!

Another day to highlight a wonderful person for Habitat. Missy Hexum is currently on ourBoard of Directors and Finance Committee. She has helped guide the affiliate in theseareas for several years. Thank you for your commitment and efforts for Habitat Missy!

Why you choose to support FFAHFH: During a Chamber Ambassador visit, StanCarignan, Executive Director, presented information on the Fergus Falls Area Habitat forHumanity. His passion for the mission was contagious and after another visit with Stan, Iapplied for a Board position. Habitat for Humanity helps provide a partner family with asafe place to call home. This is a local mission helping local families. While ourcontinuous goal is to help more families every year, the impact a home for each of thepartner family is huge and am happy to be a part of it. Thank you to all of volunteers andpartners.
