Page 12: Teachers' seminar presentation motivation, socialization and navigation in the digital world[2]

PROCEDURES WHEN USING THE MSN

1. All the participants of the group will have to be online at the same time and will have to take part in a virtual conference the teacher will create;2. As soon as the teacher gives the group their task, they will have one hour to plan what each person will do. 3. After the conversation, students will have to do their part of the project and send it to the “director”, a person in the group responsible for collecting everybody’s contribution. The group must decide who will have this role and must let the teacher know their decision;4. If students are able to not only plan their project but do it as well at the time they are using the tool, they will be free to do so;5. The final project will be presented in class on the day the teacher assigns;6. Students are supposed to use as much English as possible during the conversation;

2.3.2. Tasks

Task 1: You are responsible for organizing a museum exhibition on graffiti at MAC (Contemporary Art Museum). As organizers, you are supposed to select graffiti pieces which are creative and original. You can use the internet or take pictures of graffiti pieces you find on the streets. Moreover, the event will display pictures of some famous graffiti artists and their biographies. You will also have to design a pamphlet in order to advertise the exhibition.

Reminder:

The pictures and the pamphlet must be in a Power Point document.

Page 14: Teachers' seminar presentation motivation, socialization and navigation in the digital world[2]

Task 2: You are the owners of a school whose students do not need to wear uniforms. Since there has been no dress code so far, students end up wearing whatever crazy outfit they have in mind. Design a dress code which you know students will like and will not be provocative or inappropriate. You are also supposed to make posters in order to show students what the dress code will be like. The posters must contain pictures of people wearing clothes which will be accepted at school.

Page 15: Teachers' seminar presentation motivation, socialization and navigation in the digital world[2]

Task 3: You are the producers of a new soap opera whose plot will involve many controversial issues such as rage and relationship problems. You are supposed to create the story of two chapters of the soap opera in which there are scenes related to these issues. Don’t forget to think of a name for the show and mention the cast involved, which must be made of real actors. Make a Power Point presentation with the pictures of the actors, the place where the show takes place and choose some songs to be the part of the soap opera soundtrack.

Page 16: Teachers' seminar presentation motivation, socialization and navigation in the digital world[2]

Task 4: You are entrepreneurs and you decided to create a club. Aiming at making a lot of money and providing clubbers with real fun, you are supposed to create an original type of club which will surely attract crowds. Think of the types of activities to be offered, the membership cost and where the club will be located. You will also have to design a pamphlet in order to advertise the club.
