Introduction It is vital for all of us

as employees and managers to learn to work effectively as a team.

This training will provide definitions of team building and examples of how Kingsway Community acknowledges team building’s importance for our overall success.

Objectives Working effectively

in a group setting. To identify and use

your foundation knowledge that comes along with your role here at Kingsway.

To focus on the strengths of your teammates to be able to get through your task successfully.

Team building is a process that develops teamwork within a work unit. To have an effective team, its’ members must share a common goal or purpose. They must respect each other and motivate each other and use the strengths of their teammates to achieve objectives.

Your team has been contracted by Kingsway to

design and exciting new advertising campaign for

an EXCITING NEW PRODUCT to be used atKingsway Community!!

You may create a new product, or pick andordinary item and add an unusual quality to it…such as…

Socks that beep when more than 3 feet away from each other

Latex gloves that continually disinfect A time machine to get future cures

Your team must :

Create a name for your product

Develop a sloganCreate a jingle for

the product (not the same as the slogan)

Identify a target market

Identify an appropriate celebrity spokesperson…

You do NOT HAVE a ½ hour…

NEGATIVE THINKING IS NOT ALLOWED! Your team must design this campaign in

complete and total agreement… Each idea offered by a team member must be

accepted and used in this team building process.

You must keep in mind the Values and Mission of Kingsway Community while in the developmental stages of your product.

…or any other song you wish to change the words to.

WHEN YOU ARE DONE…

REHEARSE YOUR JINGLE, YOU WILL BE PERFORMING YOUR JINGLES AS A TEAM FOR THE GROUP!!!

Team building in the work place has many values. It is important to be able to improve communication between employees, to learn different roles, to improve risk taking and to develop a more positive work environment.

The main goal for our team building today was to have you as staff work together and support one another towards a common goal.

If you can take the skills you learned today and integrate those skills in managing your units or departments we can foster an environment that focuses of team work.

If you have any ideas for implementing team building activities with your departments let Human Resources know.
