Cable conversion: Imperial to metric Welcome to the 3rd edition of the Technical Bulletin presented by Actemium ICS Gloucester. In this edition, we will consider the imperial and metric cable sizes. What is the difference? The AWG, or the American Wire Gauge, is a logarithmic stepped standard primarily used in America to measure the conducting wires using circular mil (kcmil) as a unit of measurement.
