Technician Bulletin iPhone Troubleshooting Home/Power Reset: If an Apple device does not power on or function properly before or after repair, holding the home and power buttons until the Apple logo appears will soft reset the device. This will resolve most software and hardware malfunction issues. Disconnect battery: If a device does not respond or power on during testing or after repair, disconnect the battery of the device. This will force the device off and should resolve the no response issue. If the device is not able to be powered off prior to repair using the standard button method, the battery may also be disconnected to power the device off.
