To this day, Silicon Valley is home to many technology companies, such as Apple and Google.

Apple THe Apple Company was created in 1976 and produced the first Desktop computer.

Apple II was the first computer designed for personal use.

International Business Machines (IBM) introduced a personal computer, called a PC, to compete with Apple in 1981.

Apple Company then built the Macintosh computer in 1984 with the first icons and mouse.

Software is the programs created to tell computers what to do.

Bill Gates helped design a software called Windows in 1985.

Windows is an operating system that tells computers how to show icons and work with the computer’s mouse or other accesories.
