It enables telecom infrastructure by developing carrier class communications equipment. Tejas has a portfolio of packet-aware optical transport products based on SDH/SONET and has been deploying Ethernet-over-SDH /SONET.

It primarily supplies a range of optical transmission equipment, which enable the use of the optical fibre networks. Tejas Networks designs the equipment but outsources manufacture, from Flextronics (India ), Celestica (India) and other electronic manufacturing service providers elsewhere in the world.[20]

History Established in the year 2000, Tejas Networks is a pioneering telecommunications company started by a passionate team of three global technologists. Since then, Tejas Networks has grown into a USD 150 million company (FY 2008-09) with products deployed in over 50 countries across the world and is ranked amongst the top companies in the optical transport market in India and across the world.

Overview: TJ2051 is a fully redundant access/aggregation switch which is

ideal for aggregating one GigE access rings onto a 10Gbps aggregation packet rings. With support for redundant power and redundant switch fabric, it improves the reliability of the network. It supports 2x10GigE line and 20x1GigE client interfaces and a 48Gbps distributed switch fabric.

Ideal Environment: TJ2051 is ideal for building 10Gbps aggregation rings from high reliability equipment. It is also well suited for aggregation rings which run out of capacity with 1 10GigE ring, and need an additional aggregation ring. It has a high fanout of 20 1GigE interfaces for aggregating a high number of 1GigE rings or traffic from spur locations.

High capacity: With support for 10GigE line side interfaces, TJ2051 enables aggregation rings to run at much higher capacities. If 10GigE bandwidth is not enough, then an additional 10GigE ring can be run on same fiber (using CWDM) or additional fiber pair), thus doubling the capacity of the aggregation ring.

High reliability: TJ2051 is fully redundant and has no single point of failure in ring configuration. This ensures that services dont get disrupted in aggregation rings in the event of equipment failures. This is important since aggregation rings typically carry traffic from many DSLAMs or cell sites.

Connection oriented Ethernet: TJ2050 supports connection oriented ethernet which enables traffic engineered end-to-end circuits to be provisioned across the network. These circuits can have service parameters like CIR (committed information rate),EIR (excess information rate) and 50ms protection. The concept of a connection in a packet switched network is very useful for providing tunnels for specific applications, providing bandwidth and latency guarantees, and for security.

50ms protection: With support for ITU-T G.8031 and G.8032, TJ2051 supports both path and ring protection within 50 ms. This enables reliable and disruption free connectivity for mobile base stations and high ARPU segments like banking & finance, and for VOIP and Video conferencing customers

Connection oriented Ethernet: TJ2051 supports connection oriented ethernet which enables traffic engineered end-to-end circuits to be provisioned across the network. These circuits can have service parameters like CIR (committed information rate),EIR (excess information rate) and 50ms protection. The concept of a connection in a packet switched network is very useful for providing tunnels for specific applications, providing bandwidth and latency guarantees, and for security.

Ethernet OAM: Allows real-time monitoring of end-to-end circuits, connections or trunks, enabling quick detection of faults and isolating of fault to a particular subnet, trunk, link or node. Leads to substantial Opex savings

Hierarchical Quality of Service: Allows Service Provider to control bandwidths and latencies on a per service and per application level. Thus within a single service, bandwidth, latency and reliability gurantees can be provided per application. By mixing and matching these parameters, new revenue generating services can be offered or existing services can be differentiated.

Tejas Networks Packet Optical product wins ET Innovative Telecom Equipment Award 2011-04-25 14:57:33, India

tejas logo Tejas Networks has won the Economic Times (ET) Innovative Product Award 2011 for its Packet Optical Transport (POTP) product, TJ1600 felicitate the innovators of the telecom industry. The Innovative Product award recognizes products that have resulted in increased customer base, increase in revenue or profitability and changed market dynamics in telecom. This award was given by the Minister of State for Telecom & IT, Government of India, Sachin Pilot at an event in Mumbai.

"We are delighted to win this prestigious award, especially since we were benchmarked against innovative telecom equipment offered by leading global vendors from around the world. Our innovative Future ReadyTM transmission products enable customers to scale their networks for massive data growth, driven by mobile internet, video and business services, while maintaining a large and growing customer base for voice traffic. We are seeing tremendous success with our POTP products with deployments in Indian and international telecom operator networks. In India, leading operators like Airtel, Aircel and other leading 3G operators have installed TJ1600 successfully, addressing over 250 million subscribers," said Sanjay Nayak, CEO & MD of Tejas Networks.

"Tejas POTP portfolio enables service providers to seamlessly transition 2G/2.5G networks serving all-voice traffic to 3G/4G networks serving predominantly data traffic at their own pace. TJ1600 is a POTP product that can be deployed as a 100 percent native TDM box today and can be smoothly migrated to a 100% pure-packet box in the future on the same shelf, thus making it a truly scalable and Future ReadyTM platform," said Arnob Roy, president Engineering at Tejas Networks.
