RockTenn Recycling

§  RockTenn is not a landfill based company, it is a recycler and paper mill operator with a focus on reducing waste costs and protecting natural resources through recycling, landfill diversion and new technologies helping forward-thinking sustainable organizations.

§  RockTenn’s Recycling operation has the backing of a $9 Billion fully integrated paper

company with need for internal fiber consumption. §  RockTenn is one of the largest fiber recyclers in the United States consuming over 4

million tons internally every year. §  RockTenn aligns itself with customer objectives to recycle more, landfill less and

reduce its customer’s organization’s overall waste related expense.

§  RockTenn provides centralized customer service out of an Atlanta-based hub that also acts as a trading center. This allows for open communication between both the supply and sales groups offering greater ease of material movement.

workers in its recycling facilities. §  RockTenn also participates in Goodwill programs in which we market the recyclables

generated by Goodwill as well as use Goodwill employees on our single stream sort lines as temp workers.

Opportunities within State

§  All four recycling facilities located in Tennessee are not currently functioning at full capacity so there is opportunity for additional materials to move through them.

§  Additional materials would provide an opportunity for revenue. §  If more materials move through the plants, lines would run longer or create shifts which would add

jobs within the state.
