Teachers have enjoyed engaging with children face to face and talking about their learning and explaining tasks in their work packs. It has also been an excellent opportunity to hear about all the learning they have been doing at home. The childrens smiles and excitement to be back in the classroom have certainly been infecous. It has been a long me away from school for most of our students, so staff have taken me this week to remind them about the high behaviour expectaons that we have at Tallimba Public School. Our school expectaons of Respect, Responsibility, and Cizenship have been reinforced, and students have been reminded of their importance. We are asking all families to support the school by reminding students about this when they are at home. It has been terrific to see so many students back in school uniform. As the weather is cooler in the morning, students are taking off their jumpers during the day. These items must be clearly labelled so that they can be returned to their owner if they are found in the playground. A reminder that a hat is also part of our uniform and students are asked to bring them to school each day. It is our understanding that school operaons next week will be the same as this week. Students will aend school one day per week on their allocated day and, where possible, connue learning from home on the other four days. Dont forget to bring your work pack, water bole, and a pencil case with school supplies, next Monday. Tallimba Public School is open every day for students who need to aend. Should any health advice or Department of Educaon guidelines change, families will be nofied via e-mail and social media. The health advice is telling us that the most significant risk of transmission is between adults, and the school has implemented social distancing processes to keep parents and teachers safe. The Department of Educaon has provided Nell with extra cleaning me to be onsite to wipe over surfaces, clean sports equipment, and toilets, throughout the day. All staff are reminding students about the importance of handwashing, being taught sneezing and coughing protocols, and encouraging them not to touch their faces and each other. The school has also been issued with a thermometer that will be used to take the temperature of staff and students who are feeling unwell. Should your child have a temperature outside the normal range, you will be asked to collect them. No child should aend school if they are unwell. Our Cizen of the Week is Clare Hueske. We would like to acknowledge Clare for her commitment to remote online learning. Congratulaons, Clare! Have a wonderful week, everyone. Melanie Johnson Principal

TALLIMBA PUBLIC SCHOOL A little school achieving big things

    Welcome to Week 3

It has been so lovely to see our students back at school this week! Teachers have enjoyed engaging with children face to face and talking about their learning and explaining tasks in their work packs. It has also been an excellent opportunity to hear about all the learning they have been doing at home. The children’s smiles and excitement to be back in the classroom have certainly been infectious. It has been a long time away from school for most of our students, so staff have taken time this week to remind them about the high behaviour expectations that we have at Tallimba Public School. Our school expectations of Respect, Responsibility, and Citizenship have been reinforced, and students have been reminded of their importance. It is our understanding that school operations next week will be the same as this week. Students will attend school one day per week on their allocated day and, where possible, continue learning from home on the other four days. Don’t forget to bring your work pack, water bottle, and a pencil case with school supplies, next Monday. Tallimba Public School is open every day for students who need to attend. Should any health advice or Department of Education guidelines change, families will be notified via e-mail and social media. The health advice is telling us that the most significant risk of transmission is between adults, and the school has implemented social distancing processes to keep parents and teachers safe. The Department of Education has provided Nell with extra cleaning time to be onsite to wipe over surfaces, clean sports equipment, and toilets, throughout the day. All staff are reminding students about the importance of handwashing, being taught sneezing and coughing protocols, and encouraging them not to touch their faces and each other. The school has also been issued with a thermometer that will be used to take the temperature of staff and students who are feeling unwell. Please ensure all students bring their

own drink bottle to school, as we are

unable to use the bubblers. Staff will

    refill drink bottles as required.

    Home Learning Packs

For those students who are continuing with

the learning from home, please remember to

bring in your learning pack from week 3 on

    Monday.

You will then take your week 4 pack home

    from school with you.

  • This week we commenced the Phase 1 transition back to school, in which students returned 1 day a

week. Look how happy the children are to be back with their friends in the playground.
