Dear Parents / Carers2015 Kindergarten transition programA fantastic day was had at school last Wednesday with the conclusion of the 2015 Kindergarten extended transition program. Again this year the eight week program culminated with a full school day for our incoming students. A special ‘graduation’ assembly in the hall followed lunch with parents before students ended their day with a range of gross motor skills. Our graduation assembly featured our transition class joining with their Year 3 buddies for a singing performance before being presented with certificates and a special bag of goodies for the students and their parents. Many thanks to the View Club for donating such wonderful library bags to our students and our school. Thank you also to Mrs Patterson, who is going to be a fantastic addition to the teaching staff at our school next year, Mrs Austin and Sarah Archibald for all the work they did over the past few weeks during this program. Photos are included elsewhere in this newsletter and also on our website at www.mullumbimb-p.schools.nsw.edu.au

Poems by 3/4S
Limericks One day a young student called Fay, There once was a dragon of power,Found an old fine she had to pay. He said that he would never cower. She tried to find the money, But when he saw a lion,But it wasn’t very funny. It made him go cryin’From shock the girl fainted that day. Now he cries hour after hour.

Excuses Not to Clean my Bedroom
My mum asked me to clean my room,Mum, I can’t get in there at all,A huge bird is in my room,I’m selling it at the stall.
Volcanoes are erupting,I’ll do it later… I might,I’m allergic to cleaning,Mum, It’s nine o’clock at night!
Yours is messier than mine,I’ve got an appointment, Mum,There are monkeys in my room,And now I’m just struck dumb. Hugh Morgan-Foxon
I wish I could clean my room,But for the millionth time,It was destroyed by the groom,Who smells of rotten lime.
I’ve been to the optometrist,And he said that I’ll go blind,He said I had to rest,And no cleaning of any kind.
I might of done the cleaning,But as you should now know,My room is only standing,On a giant stack of snow.
If I try to clean it, I’m afraid I might drown, Under all that stuff, you twit! Lucky I’m wearing my death gown
I’m waiting until Christmas,And hopefully by then,You’ll hire a maid that Christmas,To clean up my messy den.
“Daisy, Daisy, Daisy!”My parents slowly said,
“Please stop being lazy, But for now it’s time for bed.”
Daisy Morgan
My mum told me to clean my room,There’s something that goes kaboom!I’m too busy eating French fries,I won’t do it, it’s not my room!
The cat was in there last night,The cat and dog started to fight,Haven’t you heard the Earth has exploded?Didn’t you know it’s the middle of the night?
The roof has blown away,And the forecast’s showing rain,I’ll do it in the holidays,Well, that’s my only gain. Phoebe Thomas

OUR COMMUNITY NEWS
SRC NewsThis term the SRC has voted to support our local Wires organisation. Their role in our community is invaluable and all money raised goes towards food for the rescued animals. On that day, we are asking everyone to come dressed as a native Aussie Animal and to bring a gold coin donation to support this worthwhile cause.Coming soonOur Art Expo will be held in week 9 this term, Thursday, 4th December. This is an opportunity to showcase all the amazing and creative students at our school. As well as a piece of art from every child being displayed, we will be holding our 15th Annual Sculpture Show and the Ministry of Technology will be running a photo competition with the theme “LOL…..what makes me laugh out loud?”
SO IT’S TIME TO GET YOUR CREATIVITY ON!
Dear Parents/Guardians,Each year the Department of Education and Communities provides swimming lessons free of charge to all students in Years 1, 2 & 3. This activity is considered compulsory as learning to swim is such an important skill to master. The lessons will be conducted in Weeks 8 and 9 each morning. The 10 day Intensive Swimming Scheme is a successful program and imperative when we live near the beach and rivers. A note will go out today giving further information and asking that they be returned to the office by Wednesday 19th November. Thank you for your support.
