The excitement and energy of our young people as they paraded costumes or carried a favourite book was a great sight for the school community. It also reflects our passion for reading and the tradition of Book Week. Thank you to the committee who organised events and Julie Koenig our Reading specialist teacher and librarian extraordinaire! With blossoms blooming and our veggie garden beginning to deliver some delicious produce, it was also a pleasure to join parents and young children at Playgroup last Thursday. Fiona our Pastoral Care Worker supports this group with her generosity and kindness. We picked radishes and had a taste, what a treat for our children! I also thank Robyn, one of our grandparents, who has worked each Wednesday to get this project up and running. We have even more plans for this area! Please find our new Spring Canteen Menu attached to this newsletter with some changes to prices. Even with small increases to costs, I hope you still manage to support our canteen and the superb service offered by Jane. Canteen profits are small but it is a great asset and supports our school. Students are now being trained to support lunch time service and join the many groups of students who take on a variety of responsibilities across the site. Look out for a school parent survey I am organising and will be sending home via email with paper copies available. Feedback is essential for learning and I would really encourage you to fill in this survey and return this to our school. It is anonymous and we value the information you provide to us. Our next whole school event is Sports day and I hope to see you there and again the canteen will be open for morning tea and lunch! Kind regards, Sue Wirth Principal.
