BEFORE YOU COME INTO SCHOOL Please do not to enter school if you or any member of your household are displaying any

symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19)

If you need to be accompanied to school, only one parent should attend

We advise that you either walk or cycle to school. If you are being dropped off by car, please do not get dropped off in Manygate Lane, and be mindful of our neighbours

Parents should not gather at entrance gates or doors, or enter the site (unless they have a pre-arranged appointment)

Please inform yourself on the recommendations on transport to and from school

You must wear the summer school uniform. This consists of trousers or skirt, the House shirt or normal white shirt and regular school uniform footwear (please let us know if there are any issues with this). Blazers and ties are not necessary. Shepperton Sports is currently accepting online orders if you need you purchase any clothing, with orders taking up to 7 working days, and they open for business on Wednesday 17th June

On the way to and from school, please do not mix with students from other bubbles. Normal social distancing rules apply

Please bring your own water bottle and snacks with you, should you require them. The Pod in the Quad will be open at break and lunch time selling a small selection of sandwiches and drinks. No hot food will be available in school to purchase. Please also note that the card top-up facility is not available in school. The online top-up facility is available

Please bring your own stationery with you. Typically, this consists of at least 2 pens, pencils, a rubber, pencil sharpener, glue-stick, ruler, and subject-specific equipment such as a scientific calculator, protractor and compass

Do not bring any exercise books or paper with you. You will be provided with booklets or paper

Chewing gum is not permitted at all on the school site

ROUTINES DURING JUNE-JULY 2020 AT THAMESMEAD SCHOOL – Year 10

Please see below the key messages when you are in school

Please always stick to the following important measures to ensure you remain as safe as possible when in school.

Please always remain a minimum of 2m distance from others

The closer you are to someone who is infected, the greater the risk

During break and lunch please use outside space as much as possible

Germs spread easily so always carry tissues and use them to catch your sneeze or cough

Germs can live for several hours on tissues so dispose of it in a bin straight away

Hands transfer germs on to other surfaces, so wash/sanitise them as soon as possible

Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands

Wash your hands regularly during the day, and definitely:

o before eatingo after coughing or sneezingo after toilet useo when your hands are visibly dirtyo after accidental contact with

others

WASH YOUR HANDS THOROUGHLY FOR 20 SECONDS, FRONT AND BACK, AND BETWEEN FINGERS

ALWAYS FOLLOW THE BELOW ROUTINES WHEN YOU ARE IN SCHOOLTo limit contact and transmission we have made some changes to the school site, the number of students, where and how you can move around the school. Please follow the new systems so that we can keep you, your peers and the staff safe.

Arrival at school (Front Reception OR Student entrance): You will need to arrive at either 8:30, 8:35, 8:40, 8:45 or 8:50 depending on which bubble you are in If you are ONLY in the for P.M. session, you will need to arrive at either 11:45, 11:50, 12:05, 12:10 or

12:20 It is vital that you arrive at your given time to avoid congestion and any potential cross-

contamination. If you do arrive late (after 8:45) you must go to the front reception to sign in Before entry make sure you stay 2m apart from other students in a line If you have come to school by bike, you should lock your bike up in the bike shed When you enter make sure you wash or sanitise your hands. The washing/sanitising stations are

marked on the school map (see page 5) and listed on page 6 Stick to the one-way system at all times around the school – you will find the map on page 5, and

there is also a video explaining it You should make your way directly to your designated classroom, where your teacher is waiting for

you Line up 2m apart from other outside the classroom until your teacher asks you to enter Your classroom is adapted to follow the social distancing regulations You will be in the same classroom for the a.m. and/or p.m. session – your teachers will come to you You should limit your movement around the school to avoid transmission DO NOT mix with any students from other bubbles

Lessons: You will have 3x50 mins sessions with your subject teacher in the morning, with a break time built in,

and the same in the afternoon You will remain in the same classroom for the a.m. and/or p.m. session You are not permitted to wander around the school during lesson time The classroom will be well ventilated with open windows and door The classroom has been fully cleaned including desks and chairs. If you wish, you may wipe down

your desk when entering the classroom, but this is not essential because it has been thoroughly cleaned

You should bring your own stationery as outlined on page 2 Do not bring exercise books – you will be provided with paper and/or a booklet to work on

During your time in school you will have a wellbeing chat with a member of the pastoral support

Break time/Lunch time: During the 3x50 mins lessons with your subject teacher you will have a break Please use this opportunity to go to the toilet and wash your hands The break times have been staggered to avoid contact with other bubbles as much as possible Toilet use – only 1 person at a time should enter the toilets. The boys’ toilets near reception will be

entered from the corridor and exited via the quad. There is another boys’ toilet next to 10A You should ONLY use the toilet allocated to you. Every effort has been made to ensure this is the

nearest one, but this is not always possible due to staggered break times and toilet cleaning schedules

The toilet door from the corridor will remain open in order to allow staff to supervise the social distancing and hand washing regulations

You should wash your hands before eating You should wash your hands thoroughly for 20 seconds using soap and water, and then dry them

using a paper towel. Dispense of your paper towel in the bin. Do not use the hand driers You should follow the one-way system in place around the school You should use outdoor space if the weather is fine – see page 6 for your designated zone You should not mix with anybody else from another bubble You should stick to the social distancing rule at all times Put any litter in the bins providedBuying food: You should ideally bring your own food and drink with you The Pod in the Quad is open at break and lunch times selling a small selection of sandwiches and

You should leave the school using the same door you used upon entry If you have cycled in please collect your bike from where you stored it – again, please stick to social

distancing rules Please sanitise your hands Ensure you travel home safely. If you have walked or cycled, please follow the social distancing rule.

If you are being picked up, please avoid being picked up in Manygate Lane There are no after school clubs until further notice

Bubble arrival in school – the bubble you are in will arrive a specific time. It is vital you arrive at this time so that only one bubble is entering the school at once.
