Hello, Ushers! (If you help with the collection baskets, you are an usher!)
Thank you for helping us at Masses. It's so good to see you all in the aisles again!
We wanted to make sure everyone is on the same page about the collection. From now on, we would like one of the ushers (not the gift bearers or servers) to take the collection to the sacristy and set it on the counter, please.
We've had some issues with the money being left out because gift bearers and servers don't know what to do with it, and the sacristan may not see it after Mass if it's on the steps of the altar.
Kindly note: The gift bearers will take the gifts up after we start the offertory hymn, while you may still be taking the collection. That is fine. After the collection is done, one of you should take the basket of money to the sacristy via the west side-aisle and place it on the counter.
