Theophile Church in Christ of Belle Vie Inauguration

The church building in Belle Vie is completed and in use! On the weekend of May 23rd and 24th, the Theophile

Church in Christ in Belle Vie was inaugurated! The weekend started with praise, worship, and 12 baptisms on

Friday night. On Saturday, the church held a leadership seminar, and on Sunday, the main service took place.

Pastors from the Theophile Church in Christ in Atlanta traveled down to inaugurate the church and ordain Pastor

Ybene Dalla and Pastor Wilto Fils-Aime. Approximately 350 people attended—more than the benches could hold!

Please join us in celebrating this wonderful new church building and thanking God for his provision!

Container Delivery!

In June, the ocean container, sponsored by World Wide Technology, and its contents made it to the island and

up the mountain to Belle Vie three days before Laura left the island headed for the Unites States! It took a whole

night to get all of the items up to the village, but everything successfully made it. One thing did get set up be-

fore Laura left though—the bunk beds, mattresses, and bedding for the girls who live under Laura’s care! The

girls are in awe of the beds—they even asked to go to bed! Thanks to World Wide Technology for sponsoring

the container and thanks to all who contributed items to be sent.

2nd Annual “Play for the Island” Volleyball Tournament

The 2nd Annual “Play for the Island” Volleyball

Tournament was held on Saturday, August 8th. It

was a fun day, the weather was great, and the

event went without a hitch—sporting a great com-

petition and an exciting raffle. The tournament

was a huge success, raising $2350 toward adding

on rooms at the school in Belle Vie! That’s 45%

more than 2014’s $1610!

A huge thanks goes out to Jessi-

ca Olwig, her volunteer team,

and all of the tournament partici-

pants.

Special congratulations to the

“Holy Hitters,” pictured left, 2015

tournament champions!

School News: Feeding Program and Grades!

The school in Belle Vie has a feeding program! Thanks to

Feed My Starving Children, each child at the school re-

ceives a nutrition-packed meal every day. The program

started last fall and has been executed beautifully—it’s

been a great success! Teachers reported that since the

start of the feeding program, the children have been more

attentive, have more energy, and are performing better.

Please pray for the continued success of this feeding pro-

gram!

New this school year, the school in Belle Vie provided

books for the students as a part of their tuition. As a re-

sult of this and the feeding program, the school in Belle

Vie went from having 69% of students passing the grade

level in the 2013-2014 school year to having 93% of stu-

dents passing the grade level! This is a huge improvement

for the school. We hope to have even higher levels to re-

port next year!
