Editor’s Letter...
Sincere apologies to anyone who
missed the opportunity to have
their bin emptied due to the
notice in last month’s Arrow. The
Arrow had already gone to print
when the strike was called off!
Lesson Learned!
With only eight weeks till Christmas, everything is
in full throttle once more, this month’s Arrow has
lots of local fayres in November and December so
be sure to check them out, they are always good
to visit and you can pick up some great stocking
fillers! The local village pubs are all offering
Christmas fayre menus throughout December so
you wont be stuck for a festive treat!
All this talk about Christmas and we still have
November to get through! With the half term
holiday eating into November, Christmas can feel a
long way off! Warmsworth Gala Committee have
organised a Halloween Lantern walk on Thursday
1st November from Warmsworth Community
Centre, details inside this month’s issue.
The deadline for the December issue for
advertising and articles is Wednesday 14th
November. The December Arrow will be
delivered from Friday 23rd November.
Best Wishes

St Mary’s Sprotbrough Annual
Christmas Fayre
Preparations are underway for St Mary’s Annual
Christmas Fayre to be held at the Church Hall,
Main Street, Sprotbrough on Saturday 24th November between 10 am and 3pm.
We put a call though to Toyland and managed a
quick word with busy Santa asking him about his
special visit to Sprotbrough. He told us that he
always loves coming to Sprotbrough and is
working hard getting sacks of presents ready.
This year he has a new gadget: Santa Nav! “It’s
like the ones in your cars but speaks Reindeer
of course!” said Santa. He explained that he’s
been persuaded to use modern technology to
help keep up with all the new places to visit this
Christmas.
As usual, there will be a different Grotto for
Santa and you this year. How they dream up the
wonderful ideas each year is amazing! There’ll
be games to play and Tombola to try your luck
on, stalls of Christmas treats, gifts, cakes, toys,
books, CD’s DVD’s and, of course the superb
Hampers Raffle! Lunches and tasty snacks will be
on sale too, so why not come and join in the
festive fun?
See you there!

Another Season is over and it is one we will want to put behind us very
quickly for a number of reasons. It has been the worst season during
the History of the club for games lost due to the weather, and also the
worst season in history for results, with only a handful of wins recorded
between all the teams. The club now finds itself in Divisions 3 & 4 of the
South Yorkshire league for Season 2013.
You may think that Cricket stops over the winter, but that is not the case, the Club
competes in the All Saints Indoor Cricket League played at Rossington on Sunday
Evenings, the competition is six aside with the League winners going on to compete in the
regional and possibly the National Finals.
Planning is already underway for 2013; we have entered a team in the Doncaster Infirmary
Evening League and are actively recruiting players at all levels for the club. Anyone who
may be interested in joining the club, please get in contact using the details below.
The Indoor Nets will be starting during February 2013 and will once again be based in the
Sports Hall at Sir Thomas Wharton College, Edlington. I will advise dates and times at a
later date.
The bid for funding for the new roof has been submitted and we are currently awaiting the
news as to whether our bid has been successful.
