Little Dinosaur was excited.

Today was the big game between

his baseball team, the Jungle Warriors,

and Bully Dinosaur’s team,

When Little Dinosaur got to the dugout,

he looked around and saw a lot of

“I’m going to catch a whole basket

of fish today,” bragged Little Penguin.

“I bet I can catch more than you!”

said Baby Seal, and he wiggled

his fishing pole.

Little Penguin and Baby Seal put

worms on their hooks and dropped their

lines in the water.

Suddenly, Little Penguin put down his

“A bird?” asked Little Penguin.

“It doesn’t look like any bird

I’ve ever seen before.”

“Let’s swim out and see what it is,”

said Baby Seal.

Sleeping Beauty

Once there was a king and a queen,

who were very sad because they had

no children. One day while the queen

was sitting by a pond, a frog hopped

out of the water.

The frog said, “Your wish will soon

come true, and you will have

a lovely daughter.”

The frog’s promise came true,

and the king and queen had a beautiful

little girl. They were happy and held

a great celebration. They invited

the fairies that lived in their kingdom.

There were thirteen fairies in all,

but because the king and queen had

only twelve golden plates, one fairy

was not invited.

The twelve fairies came

to the celebration. Each one

brought a magical present

for the princess.

Just as the twelfth fairy was about

to give the princess her present,

the thirteenth fairy stormed in.

She was very angry that she had not

been invited. “On your daughter’s

fifteenth birthday, she will prick

onto their sled. Little Penguin carried

their fishing poles, and Baby Seal pulled

“You could be a cowboy like me,”

said Spaceboy to Space Monster.

“Or, how about a pumpkin?

I could paint you orange!”

“Come on, let’s go!” said Spaceboy.

One winter day, Little Penguin

brown penguin with big eyes waddled

up to him.

“Hello,” said the little brown penguin.

Pete stood and watched Little Penguin

Little Penguin felt jealous.

He worried that Pete would catch

more fish than he would.

“All right,” he said finally.

“But be careful not to get

your line tangled with mine.”

Many years ago, there lived an emperor

who loved new clothes. He spent all of his money

buying beautiful new suits and robes.

The emperor’s only ambition was to be

well dressed. Each day, he would parade

through the city to show off his newest clothes.

One day, two swindlers came

to the emperor’s city. They told the townspeople

that they could weave a cloth with the most

beautiful colors and patterns in the world.

“This is a special cloth that is only fit for

an emperor,” they said. “But be warned! Our fine

cloth is invisible to anyone who is unfit for his

or her office. It is so fine that only clever

and honest people can see it.”

The emperor soon heard about the weavers.

“If I had a suit made of this wonderful cloth, I

could discover which of my advisors are unfit for

their offices,” thought the emperor. “I will know

the clever folks from the not-so-clever folks.

I must have this cloth woven for me.”
