FROM EDITOR'S DESK Again, it is with great pleasure that we had the opportunity to
work on the second edition of the DPG Polytechnic College
Newsletter "The campus chronicle". This newsletter is a way
for us to communicate with our students, faculty members and
alumni. As we all know, a newsletter reflects a college vision
and mission. It also highlights events, activities and academic
skills and achievements. “The campus chronicle
” newsletter
aims to bring forward all the buzz and news from the college.
The college is extremely proud of all achievements it has
attained and takes immense pride in bringing it out to you. We
hope all of our readers will welcome our idea and encourage us
to implement such creative thoughts in the future. We express a
sense of gratitude to all those who have been directly or
indirectly involved in bringing out the current issue in this
form.

Sports meet is a meet of honoring and awarding the talented
students who are participating in sports inside the campus.
Intramural tournaments helps to reduce stress and enhance the
leadership quality. The sports meet of DPG goup of colleges
was organized from 4 Feb 19 to 7 Feb 19 at DPG College. On
4 Feb opening ceremony was held. Shri Raj Kumar Sangwan
winner of Arjun award in 1996, Smt. Roshni Devi Deputy
director of sports in Haryana, Mr.Rishipal Dhankar Sports
man, Mr. Ajit Singh Vollyball Coach, Sh. Rajender Gehlot
Chairman, Sh. Deepak Gehlot Vice Chairman and Sh.
Surender Gehlot General Secretary, Dr. Prahlad Singh
Principal of DPGITM, Col. K.S. Thakran Principal of DPG
Polytechnic, Dr. S.S. Bokan Principal of Degree College and
Col. Surender Singh Dhankhar Principal of C.P.S.M were
present at this meet. The sports meet was started by tug of
war of staff, which was the attraction of the day. Students
also showed their unity, understanding and will power in the
various sports activities.

Our organization celebrates its annual function every year on 8th February, as
cultural fest ‘ARAPAN’. This year it was celebrated on 8 Feb 19 usually to
commemorate its members, their dedication and also as a platform to improve
communication between them. The program started with lighting the lamp by
Shri Gopi Chand Gahlot former deputy speaker of Haryana vidhan sabha, Shri
Rajendra Gahlot Chairman, Shri Deeepak Gahlot Vice Chairman, Shri
Surender Gahlot General Secretary, Shri Rishi Pal Gahlot Managining
Director, other member of the managing committee and all the principals of
the DPG group of college. Captain Abhimanyu Singh Sindhu Finance
Minister of Haryana had been invited as chief guest. He was given a floral
welcome. Annual function gives a chance to students to display their
managerial and other skills they excel at like singing, dancing, debates, quizzes
etc. It also provides them a chance to interact with each other as well as
teachers and other staff members of the college. The students presented
patriotic act on vandematram. Chief guest guided the students for their bright
future and distributed the prize to the Meritorious student of the college.

8th March, is considered as International Women’s Day.This day brings many things for women – a cause forcelebration, a reason to pause and re-evaluate aremembrance, an inspiration and a time to honour, lovedand admired. Over the decades, the objective of Women’sDay celebration has evolved and embraced culture andethnicity to emerge as a celebration of appreciation,respect and love towards women. To honor womanhood,DPG Polytechnic college celebrated the InternationalWomen’s Day on Friday, 8 March 19 in thecollege campus. The function was attended by girlstudents, all women teaching and non teaching faculty.Women's Day was celebrated with great pomp andceremony in the college. Every women staff was felicitatedwith a rose bud. The lively program organised by studentsand faculty members featured a wide variety of eventsincluding musical chair, balloon game, paper coin, guesshandbag items. The celebration came to end with tambolagame and a very appreciative women staff.

A tour to manali was organised by DPG
Polytechnic and lasted for four days. Manali is
truely a nature lover's paradise. This place
promise an abundance of scenic beauty, temples,
monastries, and a lot of adventurous activities.
The beauty, weather and culture of manali is
totally different and unique from other hill
stations. Students enjoyed river rafting, DJ nights
and many other activities.
